Avelyn is a weapon in Dark Souls 2. The Avelyn is an exceptionally rare and rapid-firing Crossbow, standing out with its ability to fire three successive bolts in quick succession. While it may possess lower physical damage, its unique design featuring multiple barrels enables a rapid-fire barrage of projectiles. This distinctive feature allows marksmen to inflict heavy damage by ensuring all three shots count

How to get Sanctum Repeating Crossbow in Dark Souls 2

• An illusory wall in the Undead Crypt. In the room where you are invaded by Nameless Usurper, turn right and interact with the wall. The wall will move, revealing a hidden room with two transparent warriors and a chest. Within that chest is the Avelyn. (Using a Bonfire Ascetic will not respawn this item)
• Dropped by either Belfry Sol dual-Avelyn wielding grey phantom or Bowman Guthry.

DS2 Sanctum Repeating Crossbow Hints and Tips

• It can inflict high elemental damage by enchanting it with fire, lightning dark etc and then using the corresponding bolts.
• Dual-wielding Avelyns requires the player to be mindful of stamina consumption and reload time. A poorly planned shot can render you helpless. As with any bow or crossbow, make sure to time your shots well, keep your distance, and be wise with your stamina consumption.
• You can cancel the aiming of any crossbow and attack instead with the weapon held in your other hand by pressing (Y/Triangle) and immediately following it up with a light or heavy attack.
• Since it is found in a metal chest, bonfire ascetics when used on the second bonfire of the undead crypt will not reset the chest the Avelyn is in.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.
