Berserker Blade is a Katana and one of the available Weapons in Dark Souls 2. Berserker Blade is a rare drop from the Mad Warrior in Belfry Sol and also obtained from Prowlers in Brume Tower in the Crown Of The Old Iron King DLC. Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite, it is the shortest among the Katanas. Its strong attack has a lengthy wind-up and is generally considered inferior to other katanas' delayed thrusting and slashing attacks.
The katana of a berserker, by its name. The thick, shiny black blade cuts exquisitely. Its origins and owner are unknown, but at some point the blade became known by this name.
How to get Berserker Blade in Dark Souls 2
- Rare drop from the Mad Warrior in Belfry Sol.
- Drops from Prowlers in Brume Tower in the Crown Of The Old Iron King DLC.
DS2 Berserker Blade Hints and Tips
- Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite
- The shortest of the Katanas.
- While trying to get this item, resting at the bonfire while the phantom is in your world will cause him to despawn, so checking if the Phantom is there is always required.
- MUST be in Bell Covenant for the Mad Warrior to have a chance at spawning, although he will despawn after dropping all his gear, asceitics will spawn a new one.
- If you want the best possible chance of getting the Berserker Blade, you'll want to increase your item drop rate as much as possible.
- Does not require NG+/Bonfire Ascetic (does significantly increase drop rate).
- It's strong attack has an incredibly long wind up and is for the most part inferior to other kantanas' delayed thrusting attack and delayed slashing attack.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

Why is this weapon so average? Am I missing something. The only thing I pay attention to on a weapon's stats is the damage and the weapon scaling (without upgrades and then fully upgraded) but I never bothered comparing this with other katanas. The only thing I do remember about Katanas in Dark Souls 2 is that the Black Steel Katana has S scaling in Dex (and only dex, no strength scaling at all) at +10. Why would someone choose this over a Blacksteel Katana? Besides wanting to utilize some of the Berserker Blade's strength scaling. I've used this weapon before but I only leveled dex while using it, no strength, iirc.

With gold serpent ring +1, jester cap, watchdragon parma and rusted coin it isn't hard to obtain all items. However, to get second blade you have to use bonfire ascetic. I killed about 80 mad warriors
For the first playthrough (ng) I like to use an aesthetic to get the chaos blade and then get this and then power stance. They both have super low durability though, so it is good to have an off hand rapier/espada ropera

I'm not doing a full guts cosplay but I'm doing a raw berzerker blade and greatsword or you could use the raw gratsword and berserker blade it looks cool in my opinion. But like I said I would recommend doing str.

Not tested, but you might be able to kill all but one prowler invader then die, and they might respawn. Hope this works.

Actually tried to get it for 2 hours.
It nearly drove me mad BUT I FINALLY GOT IT.
God damn this thing is powerful.
I fixed the "yeeting" To resting. Also just got super lucky yesterday and got the mask and sword as my first 2 drops from the Mad Warrior in 30 min of farming no less. There is an RNG God apparently! LOL!
