DS2 Bewitched Alonne Sword Hints & Tips
- Reinforced with Petrified Dragon Bone to +5.
- Uses the Berserker Blade moveset.
- When two handing, press the parry button to sacrifice health and weapon durability for a weapon buff (lasts 30 seconds).
- The HP cost depends on the AR.
- Prior to Calibration 1.09, the sword can be buffed even when it's broken. This is no longer the case
- After the blade is broken, one can still perform the Seppuku animation, but it does not buff the blade nor inflict damage unless one went for the Mundane infusion.
- Special buff has a Seppuku animation and can damage enemies right in front of you during the stab.
- Unlike other weapons with innate buff abilities, this weapon can also be buffed with items/spell (doesn't stack with its special buff).
- Seppuku buff of Magic Infused sword gives weapon MORE additional damage, than Crystal Magic Weapon. It looks like all elemental infusions are great damage boost.
- Damage dealt by this weapon can be devastating or very low - it depends of which part of sword you hit the enemy, the more closer, the more damage it'll land.
- It is possible to dual wield two buffed Bewitched Alonne Swords, first, switch away the right handed sword into catalyst, buff the sword on the left hand, and then take out the sword from the right hand and subsequently buff it, then you'll have both sword empowered by the Sepukku buffs.

- Historically, this weapon is modeled after the Nagamaki, a type of Japanese sword with an excessively long handle. It is considered both a polearm and a two handed greatsword. Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.

The handle on this weapon being so long is not just fantasy like I thought at first. This is a kind of real weapon called a "nagamaki" which means "long wrap." The corrupted monk in sekiro uses one too. I watched some videos on YT it's very interesting how this weapon would be wielded.

I tried to Power Stance this with the Majestic Greatsword, but for some weird reason they don"t work. It works for other weapons, but for some damn reason, this sword DOESN'T WORK with a weapon that specializes in power stancing even though they're both from THE SAME DLC.

While Darkdrift and Chaos Blade are good, I think this here takes the cake for best Dex weapon in the game. It's close distance damage is brutal, Seppuku lets you wield a veritable nuke, and it's durability with Ashen Knuckle +2 is very manageable.
I 4 shotted Old Dragonslayer with it after using Seppuku on NG+2 :)

Really fun pvp weapon, 60 vgr and third dragon ring with 60 dex, seppuku doesnt really **** with your health too much, rest is skill. it can end the fight in 2 seconds with devastating damage, or only hit for like 320 without the buff, or 440 ish with buff. once 2 shot a guy with this thing, play hyper agressive and manage your spacing and this thing will shred anyone. and if you're wondering, if you're in the close range sweet spot, it hits for like 800 in pvp, and it KIND of has a true combo with 2 r1s and a heavy. in pve? its goated, put on the knuckle ring and seppuku that **** for like 920 dmg per hit.

Long Katanas heavy attack is satisfying to use as the last hit of a combo with the bone fist
Can have both of the self buffs active at the same time when you power stance, just wondering, could make a really cool glass cannon build.

Has exactly 420 AR when fully upgraded and with 99 Dex + Ring of Blades +2. Seppuku buff deals more Dmg overall than Resins or Spellbuffs. I farmed the Giant Lord with this setup and did around 900 Dmg per hit. Overall, good weapon but purely Dex related. And the Reach of the weapon comes in handy. Especially if the enemy tries to dodge and you still hit them with the tip of the weapon.

Could this technically connect the berserkers blade to alonne? The sword has the same two handed strong attack and a extremely similar one handed strong attack. Could he be the berserker? Or am I just over thinking this.

It is really frustrating that the soul, set, and sword of Alonne all have lore descriptions that are rehashing things we already knew. I went to fight this *****er with his ridiculous hitboxes to try and get some new and juicy lore. Then I get stuck with information I already knew. Kind of sucks IMO.

It this sword the same moral blade from sekiro? Cuz the bear of the curse is immortal (undead) and when is buffed the color is similar the sekiro's moral blade.
Good thing the special buff gives it enough damage to kill in just three hits. If you had to hit them four times, it'd break the durability is so low on this thing.

Although most people don't realize this the Bewitched Alonne Sword is a great contender for bleed. It gains a nice amount of base with a nice scaling, useful for the long range of the blades. And only loses 29 base AR. Which is really insignificant when compared to other bleed based weapons. It should also be noted that a normal +5 version can be buffed with a bleed serum even furthering the bleed buildup.
