Katana forged from the soul of Sir Alonne.
The captivating, undulating design serves to enhance this weapon's mystical allure.

Alonne came from the east, and soon became the Iron King's most trusted knight.

When he departed, the Old Iron King bequeathed Sir Alonne's name to his iron warriors.

Hints and Tips:

  • Reinforced with Petrified Dragon Bone to +5.
  • Uses the Berserker Blade moveset.
  • When two handing, press the parry button to sacrifice health and weapon durability for a weapon buff (lasts 30 seconds).
  • The HP cost depends on the blade's base damage plus scaling, If you fully upgraded the blade, went Mundane, or performed special attack after it's being buffed, it costs more HP.
  • Prior to Calibration 1.09, this sword can be buffed even when it's broken, combined with Mundane infusion, literally infinite durability provided if you have the HP for the buffing and all stats as 30 above, this is no longer the case
  • After the blade is broken, one can still perform the Sepukku animation, but it does not buff the blade nor receiving damage unless one went Mundane infusion.
  • Special buff has a Seppuku animation and can damage enemies right in front of you during the stab.
  • Unlike other weapons with innate buff abilities, this weapon can also be buffed with items/spell (doesnt stack with its special buff).
  • Magic Infusion seems to work very well with this weapon, At 50 dex/50 int. Bewitched Alonne Sword+5 damage goes up from 377 to 433. Also, Seppuku buff of Magic Infused sword gives weapon MORE additional damage, than Crystal Magic Weapon. It looks like all elemental infusions are great damage boost.
  • Damage dealt by this weapon can be devastating or very low - it depends of which part of sword you hit the enemy, the more closer, the more damage it'll land.
  • NOTE: May be because of its counter and bleeding damage. These two variables alonne will make for some very varied damage output. Needs more testing.
  • It is possible to dual wield two buffed Bewitched Alonne Swords, first, switch away the right handed sword into catalyst, buff the sword on the left hand, and then take out the sword from the right hand and subsequently buff it, then you'll have both sword enpowered by the Sepukku buffs.

Trivia:

  • Historically, this weapon is modeled after Nagamaki, a type of Japanese sword with an excessively long handle. It is considered both a polearm and a two handed greatsword. Not to be confused with Nodachi, which is a Tachi with excessively long blade; for a similiar weapon, refer to Washing Pole.
