Brighstone Key is a Key Item in Dark Souls 2 (DKS2). Brightstone Key, a key utilized in Brightstone Cove Tseldora. Lord Tseldora, an eccentric individual fascinated by spiders, established a town and amassed a personal fortune through the mining of brightstone. Key Items are found in specific locations or are given by a related NPC which are used to unlock areas, quests, diversify the inventories of Merchants and to further progress the game's story.
Key used in the Brightstone Cove Tseldora. The eccentric Lord Tseldora, known for his fascination with spiders, built a town and a personal fortune by mining brightstone. One day, the town was overrun, but Lord Tseldora only stood by and watched, eerly contented.
Brighstone Key Usage in DKS2
- Leads to a chest containing a Fire Seed, Great Fireball, and the Black Knight Ultra Greatsword in the room where spiders fall from the ceiling (on the way to The Duke's Dear Freja boss fight).
- When opening the door to the room that contains the chest, it will trigger a spider to spawn. Again when entering the room containing the chest, approx. six spiders will spawn in the previous room.
Dark Souls 2 Brighstone Key Location
- Obtained as a drop from Duke Tseldora after killing him in the Lord's Private Chamber. (Note: If you kill him and do not pick up the items, you can use a bonfire ascetic on the "Lower Brightstone Cove" bonfire to fight the Duke's dear freja again, and there he will be).

AnonymousI have Brightstone Key, but I can't use it on the door! It just says: "It's locked", but I have the key. Did this happen to anyone before? How to proceed?
"Room where spiders fall from the ceiling" doesn't really narrow it down, lol. It can be used in the large building right before the cobweb platforming section. A walkway with metal spikes on both sides leads to it.
