Large Club is a Great Hammer and one of the available Weapons in Dark Souls 2. Large Club is a weighty and powerful weapon, obtainable in the Lost Bastille. It can be upgraded with regular Titanite; it cannot be infused with Bleed.

A large wooden club.

Not an elegant weapon by any means, but a beastly thing with plenty of weight to easily break a shielded defense.

How to get Large Club in Dark Souls 2

  • Lost Bastille - Treasure from a Corpse next to chest in the corner beneath the Servants' Quarters bonfire, further duplicates can be obtained via the use of Bonfire Ascetic.
  • A +8 Large Club can be found in Frozen Eleum Loyce. From the Lower Garrison bonfire, go through the gate into the room that contains a white Covetous Demon and you will find the Large Club in a corpse on the side.

DS2 Large Club Hints and Tips:

  • Upgraded with regular Titanite. Cannot be infused with Bleed.
  • At Normal +10 with 50 Strength this weapon has an Attack Rating of 546 (360+186). So Great Club is stronger, has 567 AR at same stats.
  • The Large and Great Club, both at 70 durability, have their durability go down really fast. Probably better suited for bosses or used with the Bracing Knuckle Ring.
  • Switch between the Large Club and Great Club as you progress through a level and save the strongest weapon for the boss, swapping out as they become close to broken.
  • Does not inflict Poison like the counterpart in Dark Souls.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.
Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

Kind of a shame this weapon has the exact same moveset as the Great Club while having vastly inferior base damage meaning its overall damage is lower despite its higher scaling making it just straight worse in almost every way, the only thing this weapon has over the Great Club is that it's 3 units lighter and you can get it earlier without having to rush to The Gutter and it has slightly lower requirements, otherwise there's literally no reason to use this over the Great Club unlike the other games where it had its own qualities and/or at least a had different moveset to help make up for being weaker damage-wise.

One handed weak attack is a downward drop, with such horrible tracking that you will miss human-sized targets almost every time, even when they are charging right at you. Strong attack is a sideways swipe, but the windup is so long that your opponent can hit you three times before you bring your weapon to bear. Therefore useless for shield-users. Two handed patterns are great though; very fast, and the 2h strong attack knocks down opponents similarly as if they had been parried. It's a pity that this is useless for tanks.

I've played through ds2 multiple times, and I've only ever used the large. Infinite pancake is just too good to pass up.
I've always wondered if this is because of it's poise damage or if the large clubs R2 has a flag to always do this.

          • I think we all know why we're here. Elden Ring makes L2 really fun, but this thing makes R2 even better.

Endless amounts of dopamine inducing satisfaction to be had.

Usable by almost any character 2 handed. 2H R2 flattens enemies (pancake)! Great and useful weapon for almost anyone needing strike damage or a pancake attack that is low on strength.

My favorite strength weapon to power stance, great scaling in strength and not that heavy so I can wear heavier armor. It gets even better when infused with a str/fth build for crazy damage on heavy attacks.

"Great Club is better," assumes you don't level Strength to 80. Which is quite a reasonable thing to do if you actually know how soft caps works and are very late game.

I loved to destroy stuff using the Large Club in DS3, but in DS2 it appears broken. Time and time again I smash in the opposite direction, despite lock-on.

I often try inviting the inhabitants of Drangleic to a spot of Clubbing often, and every time I did this has thus far been absolutely Smashing! They usually end up too Hammered to move, but they still have a Slamming good time regardless! That said... some end up badly Battered, and others, to put it Bluntly.... just plain don't will like it. I like to Stick it to the nasty ones after they fail to show appreciation, because their Bark is worse then their bite... Wood you agree? If not, then you need to Branch your thinking out.
