Poison Stone

Poison Stone

Use to imbue weapons with poison, or to provide poison resistance to shields.

Poison Stone is a type of Upgrade Material in Dark Souls 2 (DKS2)Poison Stone, a modified form of titanite. Apply it to armaments for a poison infusion, or grant shields heightened poison resistance. While this diminishes Strength and Dexterity scaling, it introduces poison build-up. The Melfian Magic Academy's sorcerers experimented with infusing titanite with diverse elements, with varied success across different weapon types. Upgrade Materials are items that are used to strengthen the statistical value and to increase the effect of a certain piece of equipment.

An altered state of titanite. Use to imbue weapons with poison, or to provide poison resistance to shields.
Sorcerers at the Melfian Magic Academy once attempted to imbue titanite with various elements, but are said to have failed. Someone must have succeeded though; what else would explain this stone?

Dark Souls 2 Poison Stone Usage

  • Can only be used at Blacksmith Steady Hand Mc Duff
  • Used to imbue equipment with poison. This reduces the Strength and Dexterity scaling but adds poison build-up. (Different weapons add different tiers of scaling). Increases poison resistance on shields.
  • Recommended to infuse it onto weapons whose heavy attack is equal to hitting the target three times, such as Channeler's Trident and Pickaxe.

They also drop from Basilisks, making the Basilisk by the first Bonfire in the Shaded Woods the best farming source of them in the early game. It only takes at most 30 seconds per run so it's also pretty efficient.

Though you will also get a ton of other Infusion stones as they can drop pretty much all of them (take this as a tip for farming ANY infusion stones in the early-game), so you won't know if you got what you wanted until you actually pick up the item.

tf do you mean "worms" in Black Gulch? the worm-like hand things that grab you from the tar pits? or the worm-like salamander things that burst from the walls? especially when these enemies already have names, it's very confusing to rename them so generically. in either case, i'll be taking my chances in harvest valley's pits rather than farming enemies that may or may not be the right ones in a poison-hell area.

This and bleed stone also drop pretty regularly from the crawly guys under the poison pool in front of the scorpion boss room under the hidden bonfire in earthen peak (only tested on NG, easier if you burn the windmill first)

          • For anyone wondering, YES, this is a useful item for PVP. Be you a Sorcerer, Pyromancer, Cleric, or Hexer, Poison is an amazing addition to your build. I am a Sorcerer/Hexer mix, and I use the Moon Butterfly Wings and a Poison Spear. Conclusion: God's gift to Dark Souls II. I poison my foes, and if they run from it I just use Dark Hail.

Confirmed drop from basilisks (tested in Things Betwixt), as well as the enemies crawling in the poison fog at Harvest Valley.
