How to get Puzzling Stone Sword in Dark Souls 2
- In Dragon's Sanctum, in the long, narrow pathway with the little staircase (with the hole). Jump over the hole in the staircase and search for a quadratic hole in the wall; shoot at the plate you see at the the end of it using a bow to open a door, but don't go in yet. Afterwards, follow the hallway; at the end of the hallway, search the high wall for another plate and shoot it. Now go back to the previous door and enter. There will be an enemy to left, two downstairs to the right, and a floor switch that activates a trap. After you've killed them, you should see three chests: two wooden and one metal one, the metal one holds the sword.
- You can receive one as a rare drop by helping another player with Graverobber, Varg and Cerah.
- You can receive another one as loot on the big Worm before the Graverobber, Varg, and Cerah boss.
DS2 Puzzling Stone Sword Hit and Tips
- Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite to +5.
- The only straight sword in the game to have a 2 handed R1 thrusting attack.
- The sword when swung certain ways appears to spread out into smaller pieces and whip around in an elastic motion before quickly regaining its original shape.
- Although the R2 looks like an whip attack, it can be parried.
- Has exceptional 2H tracking stab attacks. This is the only straight sword in the entire game with a handed thrusting normal attack.
- Can also do large combos with enough stamina: 2HR1 2HR1 2HR2 2HR2 as the first 2HR2 is 360 degrees and wide, depending on endurance can hit a total of 6 times.
- This weapon is also used left handed by the 'Faraam Warrior' in the Frigid Outskirts.
- Due to the unpredictability of this weapon, it can be very effective at catching foes with their guard down.

I was playing the vanilla xbox360 version of scholar and I got the sword from killing the conflicted grave robber while offline. Just wanted to point that out.

Godsend of a weapon. With the stone ring, i could stunlock the deers in the blizzard area witb two handed r1s. I did the run up to and the boss in my first try, which was supposed to be a sucide run for items. Rapier with poise damage

Love this weapon. Low requirements, but shines with high dex, everytime. Crowd control? R2. Single target? R1. Weapon buffs make R2 look sick as hell, especially crystal weapon. A sword for almost every situation

Give Dark Souls 2 crap all you want, you have to admit that it has some of the coolest, most unique and downright beautiful weapons in the series.

I didn't even know it existed before my randomizer run lmao

Love this sword for a sorcerer. Don't need super high damage because of weapon buff, low requirements, plus looks super cool with crystal magic weapon.

Am I the only one that loves this weapon, but hates how poorly it upgrades? If it was only going to upgrade to 145 base, why not start lower? Puzzling indeed.
One of the lowest requirement weapons that's actually any good, a sorcerer can two-hand it and its long range makes it useful as a safe option to dispatch enemies without wasting spells or as a last resort.

Infused it with magic and despite still showing me S scaling in dex it produces a minuscule bonus. +5 normal was 145 + 101 in physical, now its 91 + 34, which is only about a half of the original bonus multiplier
- Anonymous
Awww man, when I found it I thought maybe it could kill these ghost thingies. Missed chance at awesomeness and lore.

this is my favorite weapon in this game. but i am disappointed that powerstancing 2 of them doesnt have a special moveset. just the typical powerstanced straight sword moveset
- Anonymous
Kind of a late note but it can be enchanted through spells and items even after you infuse it with an element, really ups the damage and it's probably one of the best swords for dex builds with int / fth
- Anonymous

Although the moveset is very handy and has a unique effect in PVP, it unfortunantly has almost zero benefit in upgrading it. Don't bother with the fifteen twinkling titanites, you'd get way more extra AR from more dex.

"oh it's just another boring straight sw- wait no this is sick"
- Anonymous
The 2 handed R1's tracking is honestly not good. One handed R2 has low damage and poisebreaking. Come on. Don't be like NG newbie. We all know that this is not that viable weapon for real PvP. Just tricky.

I'm pretty sure this thing was a prototype of the Threaded Cane in Bloodborne.
- Anonymous
Power stancing two of these gives you a basic straight sword power stance moveset, nothing special :(
- Anonymous
Super late, but I infused it with dark and can confirm it keeps S scaling for dex
- Anonymous
It keeps the S scaling in dex even with infusion, os that correct?
- Anonymous
Very good weapon for its combos, range and speed. Might deal less damage than others on paper, but the combos more than make up for it.

am i the only one who calls this weapon "treadened cane's grandpa"?

Stellar damage output when combined with Ring of Blades and Flynn's Ring. Makes for a nice pocket-sized trick on low-carry builds.

This weapon isn't intended to be smashing*****...But it's bloody fantastic in the black gulch to shatter poison statues with it's whip attacks. And it's got excellent durability for a small sword. Fun to play with, 7/10
- Anonymous
im so stupid i just threw away 11 twinkling on this garbage weapon because i thought it was scale amazing and it would increase in damage UGH
- Anonymous
Despite how unique this weapon is, it sadely does not have a unique powerstance moveset.
