Ring of Binding |

|
Ring of Binding is a Ring in Dark Souls 2 (DKS2). Players can equip up to 4 Rings, but equipping two of the same item is not possible. Some rings have upgraded versions, having a maximum of +3. Some can only be found in NG+. Rings can be repaired at a blacksmith, but not upgraded. Upgraded versions must be acquired throughout the game from corpses, chests, bosses, etc.
Ring of Binding Effects
Durability: 130
Weight:
- 0.2
- Limits HP reduction when Hollowing by 25%, and stops HP reduction at 75% of max instead of 50%
- Equipping the RoB will raise your health even when not fully hollowed.
Ring of Binding Locations
- In Heide's Tower of Flame, right before the mist leading to Old Dragonslayer
- Ps4/X1/Dx11 - In the chest near the Dragonrider
Notes
- If your health is being affected by this ring and you are summoned as a White Phantom to another player's world, then there is a way to become human when you return to your world. Simply remove the Ring of Binding and replace it with another ring since the game spawns you in human form when you're a white phantom. Regardless of whether or not you succeed, you should be in human form when you return to your world.(This happened to me recently, I'll have to check whether or not it wasn't just an isolated incident and whether or not it is indeed this item that is causing it)
- Confirmed Bug: most likely to be patched soon. (Source: Dark Souls 2 Reddit)
- Update: however, this bug has not a 100% chance to turn you into human form again. it's still completely random.

You can get this ring first thing in the game if you wanted to. Go straight to Heide from Things Betwixt, run all the way to Dragonrider, do the fall cheese. This will wake up the knights. Put your souls away, then come back to Dragonrider's bonfire, wait til the Heide knight walks away from his post, lure the old knight towards you, run past him and jump onto the platform, open, and boom. Ring acquired.

The game gives you a lot of effigies, sure, but if you are a filthy hoarder like me who never wants to see his stock of item go down on repeated attempts at a boss this is perfect! It just takes a whole lot of pressure off your shoulders.

Any known way to get this before Pursuer boss? I have no clue how I got it.

This is the "I'm playing this game for the first time" ring which isn't bad. The game gives you so many, and I mean so many effigies that this ring won't be needed anymore. Not to mention you'll die less.
The place where this ring shines is during the fight against Nashandra, assuming you didn't get the 3 DLC crown's + vendrick's crown.

Ahhh, the Ring of Binding.. it takes me back. Back to my starting days of Dark Souls 2 when I sucked. Now i'm thousands of hours in and I never use this. Everytime I walk past this guy I always go, "Oh yeah, that ring!"
Now here I am telling one of my friends about this ring, as I was back when I first started. I might do a pyromancy build with the dark flame, one'a these days.

If you struggle with Heide Knights, you can try standing on the guy's right side and shooting him (sorceries or bow). He'll most likely fall trying to reach you

Perfect for a pyro build. Full hollow dark pyro flame and with Vit 40 and use this ring play as if vit 30.
