Soul of Lud, the King's Pet is a consumable Boss Soul item in Dark Souls 2 (DKS2). Soul of Lud, the King's Pet, encapsulating the essence of Lud, the beast in service to the Ivory King. Assigned a distinct responsibility among the seven beasts under the Ivory King's command, Lud was tasked with mercifully ending the existence of exiles. Acquired by overcoming Lud, the King's Pet, in the Frigid Outskirts. Boss Souls are materials used to trade for unlocking various upgrades and abilities, spells, as well as for crafting unique equipment. These Boss Souls are obtained by defeating the various Bosses of the game.

It's kinda weird how it says "each of the Ivory King's seven beasts was conferred a specific duty", but Zallen and Lud both have the exact same duty of "mercy killing of exiles"...
