Undead Aberration Information in Dark Souls 2

"Grotesque monstrosities found wading in the dark water in Sinners' Rise, they attack much like the Titanite Demons from Dark Souls; they are slow but can hit extremely hard. They have a massive resistance to magic and are nearly immune to fire damage. They are not resistant to poison or bleed damage. They are difficult to fight in the water, though lightning can be a boon in this situation; however, they can be lured over to the elevator platform where one can hit them with ranged attacks or bait them to fall into the hole.

They're believed to be Lord Aldia's attempt on recreating the dragons, these test subjects are either failed attempt or the the first step of mutation, since their bones are formed in the shape of a dragon.

This deformed, unnatural creature must surely be the product of some serious misdeeds. Who created this monstrosity, and is it what they intended to make? It almost seems to be half-dragon, but, whatever it is, it has a mind of a Hollow

Being a member of the Bell Keeper Covenant will make the Shield and Bow drop with very high frequency."

Dark Souls 2 Undead Aberration Strategy Tips

  • Lightning magic is effective at Sinner's Rise, as the Aberrations in this area are standing in water.
  • Easy to bait out for 1v1 or 2v1 fights
  • Can be back-stabbed, even though it's hard to do alone
  • Is weak versus hammer type weapons
  • Poison Arrows are very useful and a very safe method to kill them

DKS2 Undead Aberration Move Set

  • Forward Swipe: The enemy will swing at the player when in close range, can be up to a 2 swing combo.
    • Can be blocked, dealing moderate stamina damage
  • Tail Attack: Used mostly when the player is behind the creature. May include a follow-up swipe.
    • Can be blocked
    • May be followed up by a second tail swipe, which has increased range
    • The follow-up tail swipe deals higher damage, and higher stamina damage if blocked
  • Lunging Attack: When the player is in front of him but far away, he'll lunge forward, falling down afterwards. The best attack is to try and backstab afterwards if dodged by rolling diagonally forward.
    • Can be blocked, but deals high stamina damage

why the hell is it immune to fire? aren't fleshy undead creatures supposed to be weak to it? doesn't make much sense in my opinion

Why did I use a bonfire ascetic in NG? I'm in NG+ now and suffering with bonfire intensity 3 version of this area...

This guy dropped a twinkling titanite for me. I thought it would be on here but I guess it’s a really rare drop

I shatted my pants the first time I saw this guy's in ng+ I was even more scared when I realized that there were 2 of them and the flexile sentry was still there

PvP with Immolation! Excellent PVE support! I am experimenting with 7 Spell Slots (40 att.) and optional Southern Ritual Band +1/2 tl;dr Cast 1 War and 2. Tox to zone for a safe 3, Immolation and hope for 4. Cham 5-7 incl. two of game's best wake-up atks, your choice of arson as your mileage may vary) 1. Warmth will fully heal you from almost dead even with Immolation on. 2. Toxic Mist Pyro the warmth, or leave be and zone another area for casting Immolation. 3. Immolation in whichever zone Host isn't 4. Chameleon is positioned here, but the cast is optional (U B surprise how often after this combo, you will have space to pull it off. Either they're camping the Warmth, or you're inside your toxic cloud.) You can run around HOST without having to break Chameleon and STILL cause damage. Works great against a slow weapon punish whiffs on your Cham, or spell casters go haywire and have to switch to melee KEK 5. Great Combustion in case they aggro after Harry Potter move or zoning fails. (happens to be DaS2 best wake-up atk) 6. Great Fireball type for harrassment 7, Fire Whip multi-tool. Big dmg on one target, great PvE small enemy gank killer, not out-ranged by much, maybe spears, but Host's can't avoid a trade, which will stagger their follow-up R1. SOUTHERN Ritual Band +1 both slots MORE Fire Whip! +2 Forbidden Sun, especially when you have access to twilight herb. SEED of the GIANTS for lulz (25% chance each invader sprouts new seed) BUILD is lots of poise, decent armor, all the way to 70% Equip in order to shorten your roll and backstep distances. Either Stone Ring or Ivory Warrior Ring or both so your damage penalizes their poise or stamina bar, or BOTH. With ONE main powerful weapon that can chunk enough estus off with a punish to negate, and can deal with PvE ganks by thinning ranks in a few hits. And TWO an off-hand compliment weapon that keeps you within Immolation range. I ranked up in CoC, so I'm using The VANQUISHER's SEAL ring, making my bare fists the off hand (out-dmg Caestus, forearm blocks like small shield w/2-handed, plus Powerstance & Parry.) MY SWORD is the Lost Sinner's Sword UGS, because low weight, low stamina, infused hits like a truck, the Warmth offsets user-dmg. The dream is: Rolling 2HR1 thrust counter atk (OLD LEO) flowing super fast into 2 or more of the horizontal 2HR1 (maybe 3rd best reach after Fume & Grstswd UGS) for the ability to to take out someone at 40 or 50%, or burst damage PvE mobs to thin ranks. OR the oh-so-dangerous but satisfying UGS super-parry after Roll 2HR1 atk or baited atk. ( Catiyruges YT vid claims the LSS UGS Roll 2HR1 => 2HR1+2HR1 is best quick burst of damage in the game) Have fun. Basically the Immolation is only there for PvP, like I said. It's a more sporting spell than Acid Surge. Unless you plan on going PvP as a BLUE sentinel, and the HavelMage Wretches deserve it. Watch them Fat Roll away from an Incandescent Arbiter spirit hoping the Warmth will save her.

Seriously have my doubts that these enemies are weak to magic. In fact, they actually appear to be more on the side of resistant to magic.

                • Anonymous

One of the more dangerous aspects of the creature is an error (possibly) with its hitboxes on it's second tail swing: if you are almost touching it on it's right side (your left) it connects several times instead, albiet rarely.

                  • Anonymous

On the top description it says it's weakness is magic. But on the general description it says it's very resistant to it

Actually they are easy to kill, even in water. If you aproach them face to face they will do a slow attack with one of their hands, you can easily dodge it just by walking back without wasting stamina to roll or run, after they miss then you can hit them once and trigger his same attack just by aproaching face to face, reapeat until he is dead. Just don't aproach them from the sides or from behind or you will trigger other quick attacks that are harder to dodge (which require rollling).
