Yorgh's Spear is a weapon in Dark Souls 2. Yorgh's Spear, the formidable spear wielded by Sir Yorgh during his invasion of the Sanctum city. After vanquishing the Sunken King, Sir Yorgh impaled Sinh, the slumbering dragon, with this weapon to obtain its blood.
Spear wielded by Sir Yorgh during his invasion of the Sanctum city. After his defeat of the Sunken King, Sir Yorgh pierced Sinh, the sleeping dragon, with this spear to claim its blood. But Sinh immediately awoke, spewing a poisonous fog that blanketed the city in death, and Sir Yorgh disappeared in to the Eternal Sanctum.

Dark Souls 2 Yorgh's Spear Hints and Tips:
- Upgrades with Petrified Dragon Bone to +5
- Resistances change considerably: magic, lightning, fire and dark resistance are reduced by 70, whilst poison is increased by 200. Bleed, petrify and curse are increased by 70
- Can be powerstanced with Piercing Swords, Spear, Helix Halberd and Lance type weapons, but not Santier's Spear.
- Although you cannot power stance this weapon with Santier's Spear, the huge variety of movesets of both can catch people off guard while wielded together, while Santier's Spear moveset will make it even more agile. equip both Illusory Rings if you decided to go for dual wielding Yorgh's Spear and Santier's Spear to make it even more unpredictable.
- A useful combo for Santier + Yorgh moveset is Santiner rolling 1H L1 + Yorgh 1H R1/R2 for strafing and Santier L1 + Yorgh R1 for slightly faster Yorgh poking.
- This weapon is devastating in PvE. With 40 DEX/40 STR and a Yorgh's Spear+5 you may deal up to 1500 damage with (relatively) quick two-handed R1-R1 combo (tested on dragons in Dragon Aerie).
- Seems to respond extremely well to infusion; when infused with Magic, Fire, Lightning, or dark, the elemental damage alone is almost as much as the physical was before infusing (281 at +5 vs 300). This can prove extremely useful as a single 2h R1 can do well over 900 damage to other players with Old Leo ring, +5 magic infusion, and Great Magic Weapon, and result in a near instant victory with its deadly combo potential.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

I've never seen anyone mentioning it, but this guy must've been strong af. Dragon's scales are extremely hard to damage, and with one thrust the spear completely pierced through the Dragon's chest.

It isn't mentioned here, but when i equip it, it makes the bracing knuckle ring icon appear under the health bar. Maybe you get the same effect while wielding this weapon? But it still isn't clear to what version of the ring the effect is comparable to.

uses halberd, lance and twinblade attacks, that hit multiple times, taking up multiple durabilty. it has only 60.

so much variety in the moveset! and pretty balanced too, with it's own pros and cons.
if there's something that Dark Souls 2 did great, it was the unique moveset of a good number of weapons.

One of the most fun weapons to invade with along with Scythe of Want, back in 2014 pretty much everyone in PVE NG+ cycles used Greatsword and a big shield of some kind with the rusted armour, or all the spellcasting speed increasing gear and a big shield, and NOTHING ELSE, i have over 1000 hours of experience invading in this game, so when i say this weapon and Scythe of Want destroy bad players, i heckin mean it :P this **** is fuuuuuuuuuun.

If you put any sort of fire damage on it, it makes an explosion sound (2 handed R1, tested on Duke's Dear Freja. I put charcoal pine resin on my yorgh's spear +5)

I want to make a build with this Spear. Spears are normally not my thing but Lances opened my eyes for this class too. Plus Yorgh's is pretty much a Lance so... What rings would be the best? I'm thinking about Blades +2 and Old Leo (Even if I'm sure the Two-handed R1 second attack does not benefit from that) . I also almost always use Chloranthy +2 and Steel Protection +2. Oh and the engraved Gauntlets for that nice 15% Crit chance. Is this a good setup or should I switch something?

When I elemental infuse this weapon it has 231 base elemental damage, not 281.

Great 2hr1 moveset. Close the distance with the first stab, then keep them from hitting back with a twinblade move. Easy wins for pve or pvp

I was a DS noob when SotFS came out. Someone invaded me in Heide's Tower of Flame and just dodged my defenses until I quit. Then they just dropped Yorgh's +5, praised the sun, and suicided. thanks sunbro

I decided to try this out on NG+ in Frozen Eleum Loyce and wrecked the ice bastards and only had it at +4. I did coat it with dark weapon and dark resin as I progressed, but I got through to the Priestess Eye and the third bonfire without dying, something I never managed on my first play through, where I died over and over again.

Elemental infusion damage was seemingly nerfed by 50 in SotFS, from +281 to +231 at +5.
It is best to use hit-confirm tactics with this weapon in PvP.

I use this spear lightning infused with at the moment 55 faith and 30 str / dex. It is defenitely better than a lot of other weapons. This spear is so good in PVE. The moveset is awesome. Especially the running attack. But also good R1s and R2.
I hope we get a OP spear like that in the Elden Ring DLC.
