An ultra greatsword, the heaviest of weapons.
 
As the name suggests, the Zweihander is held with two hands, but its weight is such that even wielding it in this manner requires strength worthy of the blade.

SCHOLAR OF THE FIRST SIN EDITION

  • At the same relative area as before, but now you have to jump at the broken iron staircase at your right (the Dull Ember WAS there before...) and ascend the ladder inside. There is a iron chest at the top with the weapon.
  • Common drop from Ducal Spider in Brightstone Cove Tseldora.


Hints and Tips:

  • Upgraded with regular Titanite to +10
  • Good for hitting large groups of enemies and hard hits when needed.
  • The 2-Handed thrust attack IS launch-capable, and will throw humanoid enemies a few feet and knock them down, if it doesn't kill them outright.
  • Due to it's incredibly long range and large arcing sweeps with low stat requirements, an infused Zweihander with the proper weapon buff (Fire Infusion would mean getting Pyromancy Flame and Fire Weapon), in the right hands makes it an incredibly versatile weapon for PVP. On Base stats (24 Strength and 12 Dex), with a +10 Fire Zweihander and Fire Weapon. It makes it an incredibly effective weapon for someone who doesn't want to spend too many points into Strength or Dex, allowing them to pump all their points into other stats while still retaining Ultra-Greatsword Damage and DPS.
  • At Normal +10 with 40 Strength and 40 Dexterity the Zweihander has an Attack Rating of 472 (360+112).
  • One of the two lightest Ultra Greatswords, the others being Drakewing Ultra Greatsword.
  • The Zweihander has a respectable stability and physical-block-percentage for a weapon (as opposed to a shield), making it viable for defensive use when two-handing.
  • The 2-handed "golf swings" are susceptible to parrying.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".

Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.
