Alonne Greatbow is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
Unique bow equipped by Alonne Knights.
This very powerful bow uses great arrows, but each draw of the string requires a great deal of time, leaving the shooter vulnerable.
In the heyday of the land, the Old Iron King fancied entertaining dubious and eccentric guests from faraway lands.
Most of them were charlatans, but amongst the riff-raff were true masters of authentic and refined arts."

This very powerful bow uses great arrows, but each draw of the string requires a great deal of time, leaving the shooter vulnerable.
In the heyday of the land, the Old Iron King fancied entertaining dubious and eccentric guests from faraway lands.
Most of them were charlatans, but among the riff-raff was an unusual knight from the far east. He trained the Iron King's men in the sword, in obeisance to his new lord.
Acquired From
- Rare drop from Alonne Captain in Iron Keep
- Rare drop from Alonne Captain in Drangleic Castle
- An Alonne Greatbow +5 can be found in the Crown of the Old Iron King DLC area. Backtrack from the Foyer bonfire. Once out of the Foyer, go down the stairs and walk down the giant chain connected to the cursed tower. The Alonne Greatbow +5 can be found on a circular platform with an enemy. Make a jump from to circular stairs to the platform in order to reach the item.
Hints and Tips:
- As all Greatbows, every shot requires a large amount of stamina, but inflicts great knock-back and singular damage.
- Slightly faster rate of fire and lower stamina cost than the Dragonslayer Greatbow.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

Iron greatarrows can be bought from McDuff easily. Destructive greatarrows are purchased from head of vengarl, can run to the far left of shaded woods everytime and avoid the invisible rangers. Fire and lightning greatarrows can be brought from Navlaan when you open his fog gate in human form.

I headshot an alonne knight with this bow and he walked around stunned and confused seriously it was a comical moment I wish I recorded it.

I killed dragon with it, and then felt sad. Dragon no fly now :(
I love how all the comments here are just talking about how hard this thing is to get rather than the actual weapon itself

Managed to get it as I was messing about in the Iron Keep, wasn't even farming it lol. The price of the arrows for it, god damn... I'll be farming souls just to make sure I can use it often.

This freaking game is so badly designed in places it blows my mind. While wearing full item discovery clothes and gold serpent ring +1 I drove the Captains in Iron Keep to extinction and this weapon dropped exactly zero times. Freaking asians and their random drops. Sigh. Guess it'll be less annoying and faster to fish it out of the crappy DLC now.
Getting this in the Iron Keep is so rewarding. It makes every area a joke as long as you can afford a sh*tload of great arrows from McDuff. It's the most useful in Shrine of Amana combined with the Hawk ring. You need a lot of stamina to use it a few times in a row though.

The +5 version found in Brume Tower was removed in the Scholar of The First Sin version. The body holding it is still there, the item was just removed from the game.
Surprisingly effective in PvP with high ADP for fast shots
