Battle Axe is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
An axe crafted for battle.
Axes generally deal more damage than swords, but each swing leaves its wielder vulnerable. One is tempted to swing axes with wild abandon, but in fact their effective manipulation demands caution and precise timing.
Acquired From
- Sold by Blacksmith Lenigrast for 1500 souls in Majula.
- Dropped by Goblin and Ashen Warrior (Iron King DLC) enemies.
Hints and Tips:
- Upgraded with regular Titanite to +10
- Very powerful early-mid game weapon with low stat requirements.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

Battle axe main hand, rapier off hand. Both grabbed from Lenigrast for cheap. Axe for high damage slashes and downward swings, and rapier for long distance pokes and parrying. Start as warrior class and you only need a single point invested in DEX to use both at full effectiveness.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you set yourself up for the entire game, right from the very beginning of it.
Rocking this lightning infused on my pyromancer char. Works like a charm.

"Drakekeeper sword" this, "Vangarian sword" that. Bro I just want to obliterate trash mobs. This thing is a quality build godsend
I'm surprised I don't see more people using this. You'd think such an absurdly good weapon for the stat requirements would be more common.

Beat the game with this bad-boy fully upgraded. Good for pvp as a few hits stuns the opponents.

I'm more of a double-caestus sort of Warrior, but this thing has my vote for "best back-up weapon" award.

Simple moveset, easily upgradeable, obtainable super early, and hits like a tube sock full of pennies. 10/10 would recommend.
Better than the Bandi Axe in many ways: Longer reach, weighs a pound less, scales with Dex and Str.

This axe creates ds2 easy mode, easily obtainable, upgraded with normal titanite, high damage, low stat requirements, and can last you through the entire game, even to the final boss!
