Bow of Want is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
Original:
A bow created from the soul of Nashandra.
The old one of the Abyss was reborn in death, split into miniscule fragments, and spread across the land.
The smallest of the pieces, sensing its own fragility, yearned for what it lacked.
Scholar of the First Sin changed to:
A bow created from the soul of Nashandra.
The old one of the Abyss was reborn in death, split into miniscule fragments, and spread across the land.
Light and Dark are two sides of the same coin, much like the soul and the curse.
The beings who presented themselves to those in search of kinghood were drawn to their awesome strength.
Acquired From
- Trade Soul of Nashandra to Weaponsmith Ornifex along with 10,000 souls
Hints and Tips:
- While Two-handing, use the strong attack of your respective off-hand to unleash a lightning-tinged special attack. Causes heavy Poise damage; as well as medium Lightning damage depending on the wielder's Faith stat.
- Special attack does not require arrows and will deplete 10 durability (or 5 with Bracing Knuckle Ring +2) per use, damage increases with Lightning infusion.
- The special attack has no tracking, is slow to fire, and can easily miss if not planned carefully. It also consumes a significant amount of stamina.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

I have had many people in duels straight chug when using this. People are not ready for the damage on a faith build with the proper setup. The salt is unreal
For a flatout Dexterity build with little Faith and Intelligence, is this a better bow than the Pharis bow/Hunter's Blackbow? I got a Pharis Gamertag and want to stay with his bow, but will use this possibly later on.

Is this worth a lightning infusion for a high faith character, or should it just be upgraded down the regular path?

This weapon consumes enough stamina per shot that at 135 Stamina, I can only shoot three times. At +5 with lightning infusion, 60 STR, 40 DEX, and 20 FTH, it has a total AR of 417 - so it's still a good weapon to have against enemies with high armor. Ironclad Soldiers (turtles) in Iron Keep took about 260 damage per shot, which is roughly 2x what a normal shortbow does. I imagine coupling this with poison arrows will make comparatively short work of some larger, more durable foes.

can shoot your sun spears miracle as well, each shot cosumes a spell charge

Amazing alternative for faith users who don't want to worry about running out of ammo compared to lightning spears. Does 366 lightning damage at 54 faith +5 with lightning infusion.

For some characters, the special attack is used when pressing the "light attack" button instead of the one used for "heavy attack". I don't know why this happens, or when, or how.
I want this.
