Channeler's Trident is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
A trident wielded by an old sorcerer.
The tip is sharpened so smoothly that it suggests a degree of madness.
Use two-handed strong attack to perform a power-channeling dance, the madness of which boosts the morale of nearby allies.
Effect: attack boost (Two-handed strong attack)
Acquired From
- Acquired from crow's nest in the Thing's Betwixt tutorial area via trading. Can be acquired using petrified something, Small Smooth & Silky Stone or Smooth & Silky Stone.
Hints and Tips:
Upgrades:
- Follows normal upgrade path (Shards -> Large Shards -> Chunks -> Slab) unlike many other unique weapon types.
Two-Handed Strong Attack's buff:
- Roughly 25% damage boost on meele Attacks
- Spell damage is boosted less (more testing needed)
- Affects all nearby allies
- Uses 11 durability
- The boost lasts about 15 seconds
- Shows up as a faint orange sparkle/glow on affected players
- Only triggers near the end of the dance
- You can cancel the dance in the early frames with a roll, but no boost will occur even though you lose durability.
One-Handed Strong Attack:
- The tip of the trident spins while hitting an opponent, hitting them three times (effectively hitting them or inflicting buildup for three times the damage)
- Works well with Poison, since strong attack is drilling the trident, equal to hitting the target for three times, at Poison +9, it's 137 x3 = 411 poison build up per thrust, making it an excellent for inflicting poison, same goes with Pickaxe
- When dual-wielded with another spear, the strong attack appears to utilize the tridents unique spinning R2. However, this is merely a visual and hits only a single time like any other dual wielded spear
PvP
- The two-handed buff will affect friendly mobs in the Grave of Saints and in the Doors of Pharros if you are in the Rat King Covenant.
- Infusing this weapon with poison and using the one-handed R2 stacks poison extremely effectively- especially so when combined with the Rat Covenant Ring, it is considered to be the best thrusting weapon for inflicting poison.
- Pairing this weapon with the Stone Ring is highly recommended, as it will eat through an opponent's stamina very quickly if they are blocking with a shield.
- Pairing this weapon with the Bracing Knuckle Ring is recommended because it has very low durability, and using the one-handed R2 attack will deplete durability quickly.
- Using the buff dance is very risky and only gives a small, temporary damage increase while decreasing the weapon's durability. Only use the dance if you are in a place where it will not get interrupted, and in a place where allies will receive benefit.
- This weapon might be more effective if used as a poker in the left hand; using the one-handed R2 with its long range has little risk of counter-attack- give it a try!
- it is best to Dual Wield two Channeler's Tridents infused with Poison paired with Crest of the Rat, this will deliberately cause a serious poison buildup to your foes, resulting in inflicting poison INSTANTLY.
- The twirling attack is incredibly prone to being parried as each hit can trigger a parry and its attacks in general are very easily evaded and punished with a back stab.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

Ah yes, the weapon responsible for most of my deaths during invasions. Gotta love that whacky lingering hitbox!

Played DaS2 for over 200 hours and never saw this item before. Created a character yesterday and chose petrified something and the birds gave me this. Haven't used another weapon since (except when it breaks). Absolutely love the one handed moveset.

Can you actually get this from SSS or only from Petrified Something

Will wearing spell lengthening items such as the lingering dragoncrest ring and the northwarder set extend the duration of the buff?
