Curved Dragon Greatsword is a weapon in Dark Souls 2 (DKS2). The unique quality of the Curved Dragon Greatsword lies in its special attack, a potent maneuver that comes at the cost of durability, requiring careful consideration by wielders. As a relic from a time long past, this curved greatsword embodies the essence of an ancient world.
A curved greatsword forged from the soul of the Ancient Dragon. In the Age of the Ancients, the world was unformed, shrouded by fog. A land of grey crags, archtrees, and everlasting dragons. Effect: special attack (strong attack consumes 10 durability per use)
DKS2 Curved Dragon Greatsword Acquired From
- Can be obtained at the location of where you fought Duke's Dear Freja. You can only activate the giant crystal after you have obtained the Ashen Mist Heart and then you will be transported into Memory of a Dragon, where you examine a dragon to get the Ancient Dragon Soul. Then you're able to craft the weapon from Weaponsmith Ornifex.
Curved Dragon Greatsword Hints and Tips in Dark Souls 2
- Reinforced with Petrified Dragon Bone to +5.
- The special strong attack is similar to the Drake Sword or the Dragon Greatsword special attack from Dark Souls. The only notable difference is that there are multiple streams that do damage that spread out from each other slightly. You can also hit your enemy with the strong attack and the special attack at one time which will result in both attacks being taken into account. With that the weapon does the highest Strong Attack Damage for Dexterity weapons in game. (Takes 10 durability to use, 5 with Bracing Knuckle Ring +2).
- The Special strong attack also has incredible range and travels approximately in a tight V pattern with 3 damaging spirals traveling outward.
- The Strong/Special attack knocks down enemies (PvP).
- Dual wield/Powerstance Strong Attack does NOT double up the range attack, its just a 'simple' (Ultra) Greatsword dualwield attack.
- The special attack projectiles can travel through some walls and obstacles to strike enemies.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

This would be interesting if you could turn off the special attack on 1h and 2h. That durability loss seems daft unless you want to play with the repair sorcery and wilted dusk herbs etc all of the time.

I love weapons that basically don't have a heavy attack... because 6 heavy attacks will just brake the thing. Even with bracing+2 that's only 12. These "special" attack weapons are only good for pvp, unless you like constantly shoveling down repair powder.

at sl1 you are exactly 1 point of dex away from twohanding it even with all the stat boosting gear in the game ;-;
you can get 18 dex OR 15 strength
at 15 strength your max dex is 17
at 18 dex your max strength is 11

I didnt get the soul after interracting with the dragon, I have the ashen mist thing as well. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

looks cool and it's handy to have on you but that description is the laziest thing i've read in any of these games because it's just the opening line from ds1 with nothing new added

I was looking over weapon AR at 99 STR and DEX and this weapon stands out as probably the best scaling pure physical weapon in the game. Not that it reaches UGS levels of AR, but it gets pretty close while having a fast moveset and nice special attack. It's pretty short and has low counter damage though.

Similar to blue knight halberd in terms of elemental reaction but how good it is with lightning +5?

I don't know if this a bug or whatever, but when i used this weapon's special attack for the first time agains Sinh in NG+, the weapon instantly broke. And before someone asks, YES i know it lowers durability, the weapon was with full durability when it happened.

Looks like a good off-meta dex weapon. Ricard's Rapier is incredibly boring to always see everyone use and makes the game way too cheesy IMO and I couldn't care less about PvP.

From experience in the arena, the strong attack can go up walls and knock people down. Probably my second favorite weapon.

Just when you think this game couldnt possibly appeal to weebs more than it does

This is an obvious, thinly veiled, Inuyasha reference...

As a dex build user i can confirm this is a good sword. I currently have a dark curved dragon greatsword and it deals over 700 damage. If you were to powerstance with this it CAN ALMOST ONE SHOT IN PVP WITH OVER 1400 DAMAGE.
maxxed out + infuse with fire and have 50 str + 30 int and faith you can oneshot any player that doesnt use great magic barrier or has a high fire resis with a parry
