*When infused: 182 physical dmg/182 elemental dmg and B scaling with chosen element. Dex scaling changes to B.
Darkdrift is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
Katana of Grave Warden Agdayne.
Has a crystal-clear blade and a strong attack that slices through enemy shields.
This katana was originally wielded by the one who gave us first death, and still exists imperfectly between planes.
Effect: shield piercing (strong attack)
Acquired From
- Talk to Grave Warden Agdayne in the Undead Crypt after obtaining the King's Ring.
- Sold by Merchant Hag Melentia in Majula if you kill Agadyne.
Hints and Tips:
- Upgraded with regular Titanite to +10.
- Darkdrift's strong attack has a shield piercing effect.
- Does slightly less poise damage compared to other katanas (15 instead of 20) but is also the lightest katana by far, weighing a mere 3 units.
- Has less counter damage than most other katanas which is crucial for generating high damage blows.
- Don't approach Agdayne with your torch lit or he and the other undead warriors will become hostile.
- The katana's blade is barely visible, usually only glimmering when performing an action, or when then camera is angled correctly.
- If you receive the Darkdrift from Agdayne, and then procede to kill him, you can buy a second from Merchant Hag Melentia.
- Previously used with Mundane in old patches of the game, currently is better uninfused, raw or elementally infused.
- Powerstance Strong Attack with two Darkdrifts is quite handy for shield piercing and stunlock, however the blade is considered short.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.
Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

Feels weird that this upgrades with regular titanite but the Berserker Blade upgrades with Twinkling, especially with the whole flavor text of both weapons, this being used by "the one who gave us first death" and then Agdayne, vs some random dude called the Mad Warrior/Prowlers.
Maybe just me, but honestly feels like it should be reversed.

IMHO is the best katana in the game. I use 1 dark and 1 lightning infused. With +10 powerstance, 40faith and 40int each hit reaches around 550 in the Last Giant. Excellent in PvE and PvP as most players are either vulnerable to one or another, especially the Havels that love a door as shield and use a tree trunk as weapon. I often punish them and execute them in a 3 hit combo as they open up after the desperation of 300dmg even shielding lol

"If infused with Mundane, it eliminates the need of raising Dex" Boy that sure makes sense, mundane totally can skip leveling a stat.
