Flamberge is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
A greatsword with an undulating blade. The unique shape is designed to pare the flesh, and is highly effective at causing bleeding.
Flamberge literally means "flame blade," but it also seems to bear a certain creature's likeness.
Acquired From
- Sold by Chancellor Wellager for 4200 souls in Drangleic Castle
- SoTFS: Found in the Huntsman's Copse. In the area where Merciless Roena invades and where you find the Undead Lockaway Key, look directly below the poison butterfly (if you kill him, the poison moss he drops should drop on the platform). Try falling sideways. It easier and stops your character from simply sliding off.
Hints and Tips:
- Upgraded with regular Titanite to +10.
- It is recommended to infuse this weapon with a Bleed Stone and equip it in conjunction with the Blood Crest Ring and Shadow Gauntlets to maximize bleed damage.
- After the latest patch, this weapon now has an S scaling in Dexterity, making it a very good choice for Dexterity builds.
- When infused with a Bleed Stone, this is one of the highest bleed-damage weapons in the game.
- Same moveset as the Black Knight Greatsword

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

"...seems to bear a certain creature's likeness" What this means?

Low requirements for a great sword. I just don't understand why it does not naturally deal fire damage.

This blade is technically better than the royal greatsword in terms of range in pvp, but by god the blade is really ugly in comparison, it is like a big log cutter saw, I can't barely notice a flamboyant form.

I got some new information: bleed is good in Elden Ring i tested only the flamberge because it's the only one that i got

So many people are proud the wiki is wrong and that it actually requires 16 str and 15 dex. Either change it, or read the comments, it's been said. Cool sword tho.

This weapon requires 16 STR/15 DEX to wield. Not 20 STR/13 DEX, no idea where the guy who edited the page got those stat requirements

Flamberge stats innacurate, needs 16 strength and 15 dex to weild.

Is there any reason why this thing cannot be buffed with bleed serum (even though bleed is useless in this game bar some few pvp scenarios)? It's not classified as a "special weapon" by any means.
I know the other guy already mentioned it but in Scholar of the First sin, this weapon's stat requirements are 16/15.

In my SoTFS weapon requirements 16str 15dex. I always get confused with bleed. In DS3 beed was awesome and worked on 90% mobs in DS1 bleed was good but if I remember correctly in DS2 bleed kinda suck in PVE especially on great sword. Less enemies vulnerable to bleed and after 3-4 hits with GS they dead anyway. Ergo unless you PvP a lot bleed infusion is useless.

I love this sword. Good damage at +10, plus the added bleed effect. Nice R1 swing speed with wide arc, and its R2 stab attack has fantastic range. One of my favorites.

"Try falling sideways" what the ***** was the person who wrote this high?

Ok, I have 2 characters on the ps4. With one character I have the flamberge +10, it was S scaling in Dex, it's now A scaling after adding bleed to it. Then I decided to make the other character, I have the flamberge, I haven't reinforced it yet but it is only C scaling in Dex from both huntsman copse and from wellager, have they descaled it again, but the A scaling bleed Flamberge still exists after checking today ?
go barehanded and punch near the edge to fall off instead. its easier and faster.
