Giant Stone Axe is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
Greataxe forged from the Last Giant's soul.
This weapon resembles a primitive stone tool, but is quite powerful owing to its immense size.
King Vendrick disappeared as the war with the Giants reached its ferocious peak, leaving his castle.
Some swear that upon hearing the news, the Queen's face remained as still as her portrait.

- Trading Soul of the Last Giant + 1500 souls with Straid of Olaphis
Hints and Tips:
- Upgraded with 1500 Souls and Petrified Dragon Bone to +5
- GSA has a rather large "Sweet spot" that starts at the base of the blade and ends just short of the weapons maximum range.
- Greataxes are great at shield-breaking and this weapon appears to be better still.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

Why on earth do you get a weapon that requires an insane 45 strength from the first boss?? I know Last Giant doesn't have to be first, but it will be for most. That makes it close to useless.
45 STR requirement is way too high for such an early weapon. Also Great Axes are difficult to handle for first time players

the bleed infused version is my primary tool to make life hell for anyone with a greatsword

Is this a valid option for STR builds? We seem to have little discussion here.
As per mathematics, if you infuse this weapon with any of the 4 elements, it has a total damage rating of 560 instead of 400 at +5 and only drops the strength scaling from A to B.
I sometimes power stance these to feel cool
