Great Combustion is a Pyromancy in Dark Souls 2 (DKS2). Great Combustion, an advanced version of Combustion. Unleashes an intense flame in front of the caster. Powerful yet deceptively simple, making it somewhat awkward to wield. Pyromancies are offensive fire spells that do not demand Faith or Intelligence prerequisites and can be executed with a Pyromancy Flame or Dark Pyromancy Flame. The fire damage scales with Intelligence and Faith, yet there are no specific stat requirements for casting pyromancies. However, opponents resistant to fire damage remain unaffected by Pyromancy Spells.

The legend never dies, and doesnt even have to go into ng+ this time either!
"good against freja" is such a funny statement because to even get this spell before freja you'd need to beat the chariot, which is (in my opinion) a lot harder than freja.
its like killing the ds3 dancer early to better prepare against deacons of the deep.
I did end up doing that in my sl1 run but I kinda wish I didn't as the chariot fight was a lot harder than freja and I ended up not needing this spell at all - a single amber herb would have been enough to replace it as two regular combustion spells nearly killed her anyway.
so yeah nice to have I suppose but definitely not worth going out of your way for
