Greatswords in Dark Souls II are a type of Weapon that are usually identified by having a robust move set, offering wide and horizontal slashes as well as strong thrusthing attacks. Greatswords are some of the most used Weapons in Dark Souls 2, they're a bit slow and heavy as opposed to wielding a Straight Sword, they also consume more stamine each swing, but they make up for it in terms of damage output. To wield Greatswords, you would need to invest mostly on Strength, they would also require a moderate amount of stat investment in order to maximize its potential depending on the type of Greatsword you have. I’ve killed aslatiel in aldia’s keep and didn’t get the old mirrah greatsword. Which sucked because I was planning to powerstance it and the flamberge. My point is that there must be another requirement to getting the old mirrah greatsword.

I wonder what Greatswords have the best moveset, and what shares that. I've heard that the Claymore is really solid, but can't be arsed to do anything in the Shaded Woods.
I like the flamboyant style of Flamberge etc. But it doesn't seem to combo at all. Too bad halfswording isn't a thing in DS

This game has the best Greatsword movesets imo... Mainly because you don't smash most of them against the floor with every swing like a bonehead with zero combat experience who's never used a sword ever before in their life.
