Helix Halberd is a weapon in Dark Souls 2
Acquired From
- Treasure from the Shrine of Amana, Crumbled Ruins bonfire: Hug the left wall and you will find a Pharros' Lockstone on the ground underwater. Activate this lockstone to find a chest containing the halberd.
Hints and Tips
- Strong attack is spear thrust.
- Strong attack releases a small spear-like tip from inside of the halberd, when only hit with the tip the damage will increase slightly. If you manage to hit with the two blades on the top of the halberd and the spear tip the damage will amplify greatly. If you have full Flynn's Ring bonus, each hit does get the additional damage (extra 150 if hit right). Same with Ring of Blades.
- Holding the Halberd with two hands and using the strong attack will bring your halberd behind your character, then they will thrust it in-front of them. Therefore even when an enemy is directly in-front of you it will always hit with the two blades. How ever you will still need to hit them at a distance to get the maximum damage for the spear will only come out at the end of the thrust.
- Although it is a halberd class weapon, it is considered a spear when powerstancing. This means it can not be powerstanced with halberds/reapers/twinblades (excluding another Helix Halberd) but can be powerstanced with lances, spears, straight swords, curved swords, thrusting swords, katanas, and daggers. When powerstanced its special tip extends with both light and heavy attacks.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

Random fact: originally this was intended to be a boss weapon. Said boss (a sea monster) was supposed to have something like spear-like tongue or something like that. Strong attack of Helix Hlaberd is a shout out to that.

Considering the relatively low base damage for it's class, would this be a good halberd to make mundane?
Powerstance this in your left hand with a Partizan in the main. Full thrusting powerstance moveset . Leo Ring, Ring of Blades, Flyn's Ring and equip load lower than 60. The two physical damage rings proc four times per hit, and Leo Ring further boosts damage if the enemy is attacking. Shreds through everything, and the Partizan heavy sweep covers options as well as being bludgeoning damage with S rank dex scaling. Busted build, honestly my favorite non-spell setup in the game by a large margin. Can replace the Partizan with a second Helix Halberd in NG+ for 6 ring procs, but since you can't get one with a bonfire ascetic you do have to wait until true NG+ unless a buddy drops one for you.

This is a very special weapon. R2 attacks are a thrust that can 1-2 shot most players or mobs, equip the ring of blades and flynns ring, the thrusting sweet spot gains triple effect from those rings so it will do massive damage. Good luck skeleton!

This page needs to be updated. The scaling should be A in dex at +5.

I really want to believe this is an evangelion reference, no matter how unlikely.

RIP Helix Hlaberd+mastodon Halbrd, this powerstance was so cancer back then.

Having returned to DS2 after a few years, only recently gotten Scholar, didn't this weapon get nerfed? I have vague memories of power-stancing these weapons, and then changing to something else, and I can't remember why...

Nearly a thousand hours in the game and I just found out this thing existed.

Thanks to the double-hitting nature of the strong attack, this weapon is one of the very few that can stun DLC enemies before they can counter-attack. I think only great hammers can compete and those have less range and speed.

The guide didn't explain very detailed about the location. It should be said from the Crumbled Ruin bonfire : from the main path to the left wall there will be two pillar and Pharos Lockstone on the ground underwater used the stone to reveal the wall (near the Shrine Maiden)

Is this weapon best for poison builds because i want to know if it can do the same thing with poison or good for baiting ?
I know why you're here. You want to power stance L2 attack.
