Ivory King Ultra Greatsword is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
Ultra Greatsword of the Ivory King of Eleum Loyce.
Wield with both hands to realize its full strength.
It is said that the Ivory King was once the highest ranking knight in his home of Forossa, famed for its god of war.
After taking his crown, they say he was the first to swing his sword in times of need, be it for his homeland or his people.
Acquired From
- DLC: Crown of the Ivory King.
- Acquired by trading Soul of the Ivory King and 5000 souls to Weaponsmith Ornifex.
Hints and Tips:
- Upgraded with Petrified Dragon Bone to +5.
- Produces a beam of light around the blade when two-handing.
- This weapon is deceptively powerful when used in close range fighting where both the blade and the autobuff hit the target. The damage as stated is not definitive because the synergy between auto buff and blade hits are powerful beyond what AR would suggest.
- While two-handing: ten durability (five with the Bracing Knuckle Ring +2) is consumed per swing on top of any additional durability loss from striking various things.
- Recommended to wear Bracing Knuckle Ring +2 and carry a duplicate at secondary slot in case of durability issue.
- The two-handed moveset range is extended although the extended range only deals the damage from the auto-buff, thus the damage is greatly reduced.
- Once fully upgraded at normal path, it'll effectively stunlock foes with its two handed light attack.
- Best left normal for damage or infused with bleed to put the outrageously long range as advantage.
- It uses the same moveset as the Zweihander, except the one handed rolling attack, that does a left to right horizontal sweep.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

He was likely the best Forrosan knight but instead of using big greatswords, he picks a slimmer one and just infuses it with magic. What a badass.

This weapon and Bracing Knuckle Ring+2, you are now playing as a Jedi.

Since it has an int requirement of 8 already, you might as well go up to 10 and equip Repair.

Arguably the best UGS in the game, damage is insane for both pvp and pve and repair powder and bracing knuckle counter its biggest weakness, also I would recommend staying away from bleed infuse unless you fully commit to a bleed build

Bruh i was just testing it out on those furries in dragon shrine, unupgraded it did 700 damage in one 2hR2 if both blade and beam connects (mind you i did have a quality build and used flynn rob)

Had a guy that had seemingly infinite durability invade me the other day. Would not take his finger of r1 once, for like 2 minutes

Why does 2 insist on making so many ultra greatswords take 30 dex and be heavy dex scaling? Since 2 also doubles strength when two handing instead of the 1.5 in the other games that means you need more investment in dex than strength.
Am.. am I confused?
Fextra: It's a Boss weapon GS with special attack, therefore it cannot be buffed OR infused"
Me: Right, established.
Also Fextra: hehe you should put bleed on it hehe
Uh. Wut.
(and it's the same with the MLGS - can't be buffed or infused? Hey you should put enchanted path on it huehuehue)

Parameter Bonus for Magic is wrong under magic infusion. Magic and Magic +5 are both E not C.

"Wield it with both hands to realize its full strength"
Ivory King wields it 1handed..

The thing is an absolute beast. Does around 1000 damage per swing, and has good poise damage, the highest bleed in the game, and fantastic reach. If the durability is running low, just use it one handed. You use durability at a normal rate, and although you don't do crazy damage, it's still good. Overall a very good weapon, especially for quality builds. Would absolutely recommend.

I've just beaten the King for the first time (surprisingly first try. My heart was racing lol) and I absolutely love this sword for farming Loyce Souls. The Burnt White King may be my favorite boss in the entire game. And the weapon is amazing but suffers the same issue the Moonlight GS has. (at least in DS3) Don't spam it's special attack to much, it's durability goes down pretty fast.

900 damage per hit? And they said quality builds sucked in ds2
- Anonymous
Best Poise weapon in the game next to fume knight sword, insane reach and makes boss’s and invaders whimper
- Anonymous
Is no one going to talk about how good the bleed is on this thing? At max stats and bleed infusion it has the highest bleed on any weapon, pretty much one hit with this weapon with the right setup (min stats, bleed infusion, crest of blood and shadow guantlets) will instantly bleed almost every player!

Ok WTF!!! I got the ivory king greatsword and the ivory straight sword. I had them both maxed out because i had a ton of peteified dragon boners left over from farming scales. I was just looking at my weapons and for some reason they both reset back to base stats? Urgh this game is fckd. I see why its ranked last in the souls series, it is buggy and flitchy as *****.

favorite ultra greatsword by far unless the enemy has good magic defense

Quick question: might have missed this, but is the buff when 2-handing classified as magic? If so, can the damage be boosted by the sorcery clutch ring?
- Anonymous
i just love this one, such a great moveset and such damage...beautiful...kinda sorry it looks like***** tho
- Anonymous
Nice weapon for stats at all 99, +5 clean i did 1100 per hit two handed without flynn, rob etc
- Anonymous
Forossa? Did the Ivory King in his time as a knight fought with Vengarl then?
- Anonymous
It HAS a special attack, that says a description, but it hasn't in the table on the top

is the a difference between Lightning plus five or a weapon leveled up to ten then infusing lightning
I've been using this in ng+ and I even went around using ascetics until bonfire level 10 on many non dlc main bosses like the first 4, velstadt and throne duo + nashandra. Cuts everyone in half. You do have to use pretty much all your ring slots just for this weapon but it's good. I have sorcery clutch ring, ring of blades +2 and bracing knuckle ring +2 and went about maxing my stamina regen with <50% equip load and chloranthy ring +2
The clutch ring gives you a bit more damage than you think because the beam damage gets buffed too on top of just extra magic damage from stats. You do want a backup weapon but most of the times durability won't be a problem as long as you have bracing knuckle ring +2. I had repair spell with 2 casts as well but it's just to save some repair powder if I really need to repair.
Only weak part of this weapon is it's not blunt damage and the one thrust attack it has is more of a burst damage move good against hippos. I'm doing 1154 damage to alonne knights per swing in ng+ with 40/40 quality build also went 19 int because it was giving some damage per level until then. It only doesn't do well against ivory king enemies with their much higher magic resist other DLCs you still get 980-1050 against the base goons at least with my setup. King's ultra greatsword at 50 str does 700 to sanctum enemies for example.
Highest damage two hander in the game. Power stanced buffed giant warrior clubs and grand lances are still better of course but it is what it is. (Power stance doesn't work with lightsaber)
