"What makes a king? Some say that it is a birthright, while others call it destiny.
Perhaps it is not important, as long as the king's name serves to unite his people."
Location
- Shrine of Amana behind a door and vines after the 2nd bonfire, look along the left side across a slightly hidden stone bridge. Only available if you've killed Vendrick in the Undead Crypt and are in human form. (Using Ring of the dead does not count) Found in the same place as the Soul of the King.
- To be clear, you must be human to open the door. If you are hollow, it will be locked.
- Once King's Crown, Crown of the Sunken King, Crown of the Old Iron King, and Crown of the Ivory King are collected, speak to Vendrick in the memory for the reinforced King's Crown.
Notes
- Part of the King's Set.
- Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite
- Grants +3 Intelligence and Faith.
- Reinforced Helm after collecting four crowns prevents hollowing. Reinforcement only lasts for the current playthrough.

What's funny, it's that the descriptions of the other Crowns (from the DLC), make a point to tell you that nobody remembers the names of the Old Kings...

The crowns serve as a lore tool, you found the cure to the curse, one more step ahead in the wake of humanity age. That's why the Lords of Cinder decide to throw everything at you in DS3, the end of Age of Fire was neigh.

Not the most ideal solution but...you could use your bonfire ascetics to simulate a NG+ cycle, that way you can run through the game again with the crown on

This item actually has some cool lore implications. Vendrick and the other Old Kings sought a way to defy the Undead Curse, yet none succeded. But the player, harnessing their combined power, can no longer go hollow, thus subduing the Curse.

FromSoft: Here, a crown that will prevent hollowing, you deserve it.
Also FromSoft: You can only get it when you finished everything including the DLC and oh, you can't bring this one on NG+.
Again FromSoft: Ohh, you know what you still have Sir Alonne, we made the stage just before fighting him a little difficult, good luck!

I've been standing next to a curse jar for about a minute or two, and so far no curse damage whilst wearing this crown with the reinforcement. So I guess it makes you immune to curse.

Oh my, you have to do the dlc and kill vendrick therefore get at least 4 giant souls which is literally endgame so you will not hollow for the current NG cycle? That is SO usefull! Thank you FromSoftware :)

So here's how to make them useful imo. Ng, kept 3 dlc crowns. Ng+ aquire Kings set, then get blessing. I'm not doing a lot of dlc content ng+

In the room with the king's soul there's a small pathway to the left with the king's crown and armor in a chest at the end

Getting the reinforced item is pretty pointless. In order to get it, the only bosses you don't have to have killed yet are the final three inside Drangleic Castle (and they're all in the same room in the same encounter) and the Ancient Dragon. I mean... what else is there? And it loses the reinforcement when you NG.

requires 14 strength and 12 dex
yes the requirement matters if you don't meet it your roll distance is reduced

hi
i have the 4 crowns but nothing happens. i am in ng+. must i really do the dlcs again to get the "ng+ crowns". the only crown i take in ng+ again is the kingscrown after killing vendrick
- Anonymous
you talk to him by entering his memory through his clothes, not his hollowed form
- Anonymous
So the only way to talk to Vendrick with all four crowns is in NG+?
The page says this crown has a weight of 2.5, but I'm seeing 3.8 in game.
