Lightning Urn is a type of Projectile in Dark Souls 2 (DKS2). Lightning Urn, a petite clay urn surrounded by lightning that explodes, delivering lightning damage.  Projectiles are offensive items that are usually thrown at hostile characters such as Enemies and Bosses to inflict a small amount of damage.

 

A small clay urn enwreathed in lightning. Explodes, inflicting lightning damage. Created in Melfia, a land that flourishes with magic and pyromancy. Though the lightning contained in the urn lacks potency, it is a boon to any inexperienced traveler.

      You can defeat the Rotten and The Old Iron King with about 50 of these, at Soul Level 1, without ever entering the Forest of the Fallen Giants. (At least in the vanilla game). Just discovered this. Quite surprised.
