Small Shields | Strike / Parry | ||
Enchantable: Magic Shield |
No Special |
Llewellyn Shield is a Small Shield in Dark Souls 2. Small Shields can be used not only to block an enemy but to parry their attack as well. This allows a riposte, a free attack by the player for a high amount of damage. Enemy attacks can be interrupted with a parry (pressing the Strong Attack button for the shield) and requires practice to learn the timing.
Acquired From:
- Rare drop from Stone Soldiers in Drangleic Castle.
Hints and Tips:
- Equipment such as the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring and Jester's Cap are recommended when farming for the Llewellyn Shield
- Stone Soldiers at King's Gate bonfire do not despawn; they can be killed as many times as necessary to obtain the shield.
- The Llewellyn Shield offers remarkable resistances and stability for its weight; perhaps the best of all the Small Shields in the game
- Requires Twinkling Titanite to upgrade

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

I reeeeally don't like how you hold this shield, especially since it seems to have a leather strap instead of actual handle for... well, it's handle.

The "Hints and Tips" section says that the stone soldiers do not despawn however that is incorrect as they do despawn and for example already did in my game
Does this still have the higher parry frames that small shields usually have?
