*When infused: 172 physical dmg/100 elemental dmg and B scaling with chosen element. Dex scaling changes to C.
Manslayer is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
A katana with a terribly worn blade. Appears useless, but is in fact coated with deadly poison.
This sword has claimed countless victims, and the bloodstains upon it's blade have turned to poison.
Acquired From
- After defeating the Demon of Song in the Shrine of Amana, and before opening the doors to the lift, to the right should be a rocky path leading to the Rise of the Dead bonfire. Go up the stairs and enter the door. Make sure you are hollow and have interacted with the Milfanito that dissipates when you interact with her. From there, continue along the path and through the shrine room and down the next set of stairs. Now go outside and take a left and walk along the ledge. The katana will be inside a metal chest to your left near the wall.
Hints and Tips:
- Upgrade with: Twinkling Titanite to +5
- Infuse with Poison to increase the poison buildup.
- Uses Uchigatana moveset.
- Since the chest is made of metal, it does not reset via Bonfire Ascetic, you can only get a duplicate by either entering NG+ or trading with other players.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

Same scaling and damage as the uchigatana, but powerstancing these uses quite a bit less stamina. I found that with two, I don't need to sacrifice damage by poison infusing them, they proc really quickly if the enemy doesn't die from the massive katana counter damage

In terms of PvP, this weapon I think works best by either powerstancing two of them infused with poison (if you wanna go that route), or infusing it with whatever element you spec your build into. I personally find that dark/lightning works best, but at least for me the Uchigatana works better in most situations than this weapon. Not sure if it's just me, but it seems shorter than the Uchigatana, and having the same moveset you can definitely feel it.

I've done numerous playthroughs on both vanilla and SotFS and I never got this item until just recently because I somehow overlooked that staircase despite completing the milfanito sidequest in most of them.
