Melu Scimitar is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
Scimitar of Laddersmith Gilligan.
Nothing notable about this weapon, except perhaps the luxurious jewels embedded in the hilt. If your aim is to appear dazzling on the battlefield, this might just do the trick.
Acquired From
- (Talk to) Laddersmith Gilligan after purchasing the 12000-soul ladder in Majula. Drops along with ladder miniature if killed
Hints and Tips:
- Upgraded with regular Titanite to +10.
- Uses Red Rust Scimitar moveset.
- It is possible to acquire two in one playthrough if you first buy the ladders. Talk to him for the first.and then kill him for the second.
- Due to its mediocre scaling for default path, recommended to infuse with Dark to pull it to full potential.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

This weapon and the drakekeeper sword are good if you have minimal stats in strength/dexterity and you're fully investing in the other stats.
This thing weighs 2.5 more than the regular scimitar, yet does 5 less poise damage and 10 less crit. Why.

With Mundane infusion on max level build this thing has 420 AR

Enchanted Melu vs Enchanted Falchion. Falchion has -10 attack than Melu, E, E, D Scaling(Melu C Int). Falchion is lighter (2.5). If your doing a full mage(High Int, Att, Str 18 and Dex 18 for MLGS) you wont be take to take scale up bleeding damage. Scimitar is ligher(1.5)...

Scaling, moveset, looks aside this thing is almost twice as durable then scimitar and similar swords. And you gonna spam these r1 like a madman with those.
