Crafted at the Lindelt Monastery to replicate an ancient, sacred scimitar characterized by its uniquely shaped tip.
When a true master wields this scimitar, their graceful chained attacks are described as mystical dances, and their deadly slashes as lingering nightmares.
Acquired From
- Rare drop from Black Phantom found in NG+ (or NG with ascetic) in Aldia's Keep near the 2nd bonfire behind a painting.(Does NOT drop 100% with Bonfire intensity 7.)
- The phantom does not respawn after it's killed, so in order to farm it you need to use Bonfire Ascetics or wait until the next game cycle/journey.
- The drop chance seems to have been increased for the Scholar of the First Sin version of the game. Note that the phantom also drops pieces of its set.
Notes:
- Upgraded with regular Titanite to +10.
- Visually, this weapon is the equivalent of the Painting Guardian Sword found in the first Dark Souls.
- Has a longer active parry window than other scimitars.
- Has a unique strong attack when wielded on the main hand that performs a series of spinning attacks.
- Wielding this weapon offhand and using the strong attack after using the normal attack of the mainhand weapon will perform the elegant spinning attack instead of the typical parry. You must have enough str/dex to power stance the weapons but you don't need to actually be in power stance mode.
Hints and Tips:
- Has a unique parry animation with zero-length starting animation and rather long parrying window which allows for a very quick parry. This feature was removed in Calibration patch 1.10 but then was later brought back (which suggests that the unique parry was always intended to be that way).

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

Idk, a guy invaded me and very obviously parried nothing with this, I could tell he was going for it, but when I tried to punish, more than a second after he started the parry, it got me. Seems a lot better than 10 frames.
Pretty good for dual wielding in the left hand. It has 8 startup and 10 active frames.

There's a mistake in the page, the parry isn't anymore, when they re buffed the parry they gave it 8 startup, 1 less than the parrying dagger. Who fact checks these articles?

- Anonymous
does the parry frame start instantly even without having the required attributes to wield it?
- Anonymous
The parry frames are exactly the same as any other curved sword now.
Due to the high recovery frames and the no longer incredible parry frames, this is most useful in pve/npc invaders where latency isn't an issue and you can take full advantage of the fastest startup parry frames in the game. For pvp I would stick to rapiers and shields
- Anonymous
It's the closest you can get to an easy reaction parry, since you don't need to see the attack coming to have enough time to set up the parry frames. It's fairly good for PvE in that sense, since many enemies have really erratic attack patterns

This doesn't seem to parry on the first frame like it used to, however it's still a very strong choice for cheesing parries in pvp and pve due to the high active parry frames. I'd recommend this weapon or the Llewellyn Shield if you plan on doing a lot of parrying.

Guys,im level 430sh can someone drop or trade it ? I have used around 40 bonfire aestetics and guess what,i am only getting torso set piece... pm me at psn exploringtheLsle

The special attack does more damage when the weapon is powerstanced than when it's not it seems.

You're telling me I put Aldia's keep at Ng+50 for a square sword that doesn't even have the unique parry anymore
Was it rebuffed with a good parry animation? Because it seems to be able to parry very quickly again, not immediate anymore but close to it. If anyone can get some tests on this it would be much appreciated.
Ds1 channelers trident: I am the worst farm.
Ds2 monetary scimitar: hold my parry frames.
