Monastery Set is an Attire or Armor in Dark Souls 2. Armor sets do not provide specific benefits, so players are free to mix and match their preferred parts to optimize their Builds.
"A traditional sacred headcloth/longshirt/gloves/skirt crafted at Lindelt Monastery. Made of lightweight, flowing white fabric.
The ceremonial design suggests that they revered whatever it was they watched over.

Set Location
- Dropped by dark spirit Painting Guardian in Aldia's Keep on NG+ (along with Monastery Scimitar). Note: this dark spirit does not respawn, drops are not guaranteed and do repeat.
Notes
- Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite.
- Hood offers second highest poison resistance (almost equal to that of Gyrm helm).
- Robe, gloves and boots offer the highest poison resistance.
- Boots offer third highest bleed resistance (almost equal to that of Manikin boots).
- Hood, robe and gloves have the highest physical defense to weight ratio (but defense itself is low).
- It is the armor set of Painting Guardians from Dark Souls.

AnonymousNoice. In this game where there are random enemies turning red like invaders in NG+, how are you supposed to know that some of them have special drops?
I killed him while he was in the painting hole in the wall, and it's too high to jump up to it. I cannot reach the drop. That's bullshit.

Got summoned to some dude's word to fight Pursuer, he was using this set and every other summon was using it and he gave me it, +5 chest and arms bruh

If you are playing on a PC, it is possible to backup your save before killing the Painting Guardian. If she drops the item you want, go for the next one. If she doesn't, then just overwrite your save file with the backup from before she was killed. That way, you only have to kill that ****ing dragon 5-6 times.

To encourage those who are going to farm this set with Bonfire Ascetic, you can take the opportunity to farm Dragon Scale (which is on the right side after the boss) and Pharros Lockstone, which is next to the bonfire behind the cabinets with those green portions.

using bonfire ascetic at the second bonfire is a easy way to farm it (the dark spirit is near by)

What kind of idiot would actually try to farm this, burn countless bonfire ascetics in the process and waste time fighting that boring dragon over and over again while gaining enough souls to upgrade half of the weapons in the game for some clothes he/she will never wear again after that? Aaaaaand here I go again because I still need that headpiece...

Anyone looking for this gear on Xboxone SotFS, I have extras of all but the gloves. GamerTag Fester710, soul tier maximum.
Ah, so glad I constantly back-up my save so that when I get to this point all I have to do is save before the phantom NPC, kill it, and if I get a drop I need I back up the data. And if I don't get the drop after using a bonfire ascetic, redownload backed up data so I don't waste an ascetic.
