"A mask depicting Pharros' contraption.
Tears flow from the eyes of this mask,
drenching its wearer.

The majority of Pharros' creations
are perplexing to reasoned men,
and this mask is no exception."

Notes

  • Upgraded with regular Titanite.
  • Upgraded stats are only 50% higher.
  • This mask soaks the user in water permanently until it is taken off, increasing fire resistance by 100 (not counting the regular fire resistance of the mask itself), but decreasing lightning resistance by 100.
  • Also note that wearing the mask darkens your character model and armor; this is the tears of the mask flowing, and drenching its wearer as the description suggests.
  • Extremely handy for walking on paths covered with lava in Iron Keep.
  • When worn, this mask hides certain visual effects on the wearer, making effects such as Iron Flesh undetectable.
  • The Mask can also be used to wash off poison on the wearer from poison pools or pots.

The amount of fire defense being wet gives you is insane. Try stacking as much fire defense as you can with armor, flash sweat, orange burr, and fire quartz ring, and see how quickly the lava in Iron Keep still kills you. Now try eschewing all those things, but being wet, either from this mask or from a Pharros fountain, and check the difference. Wetness + flash sweat is practical invulnerability, and with this mask you could even do it in PvP against a pyromancer.

The mesmerizing caverns of the Gyrm were made with a peculiar rock that was apparently blessed by an endless spring of cristal-clear water. Pharros realized this miracle when the mask started crying after the last polish of his own face.

As he put the mask on, the blessed waters cleared his old eyes, revealing new perspectives to it's maker. Under such new scope, Pharros's contraptions were created. Only those most fond of exploration would be gifted with the revelations of the unseen.

This, the bell, and the minotaur helm seem to be the best helms in the game. The triple-threat triad of tears, ding-dong, and moo.

This looks similar to those Elden Ring heads that the sorceror people wear (sorry, don't have exact names).

Can I just say screw this mask, if you got this mask on SotFS you know how painful it is to get and now you have PTSD whenever someone says the word IRON or PASSAGE. Mercy on you the souls wasn’t worth it just NG+smelter demon red and get his sword again, leave blueberry to rust in that place of hell.

Wearing this mask, using a brightbug, saving and quitting will make the brightbugs timer glitch out when you reload the save. The timer will last indefinitely giving you a permanent 20% to your damage output and damage resistance, at least until you encounter a loading screen.

Having this mask in your inventory is a mark of shame for having died over and over in the Iron Passage until you had depopulated it of every last enemy along the main route there.

Anyone willing to drop this for me at the foyer bonfire? I'm at about soul memory 1,500,000. Also, anyone willing to drop a smelter hammer per chance?

I suppose it's no coincidence that a perpetually crying mask is your reward for completing one of the premier examples of stupidly antagonistic game design.

Please fix the description, it lead to a red herring when working on a lore project... very frustrating. Thank you!

That description is the description of the Minotaur Helm. It should say:

                          A mask depicting Pharros' contraption.
Tears flow from the eyes of this mask,

                          are perplexing to reasoned men,
and this mask is no exception.
