Pyromancy Flame is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
A flame catalyst used by pyromancers.
Pyromancers rouse this flame to produce various fire arts. Equip pyromancy flame to produce pyromancy. Attune pyromancies at a bonfire.
The strength of a pyromancy depends on the strength of one's pyromancy flame, which can be improved through reinforcement.
Acquired From
- Right after defeating the Flexile Sentry in No-Man's Wharf, climb the ladder but do not activate the navigational device. Instead, look around for a metal chest containing the Pyromancy Flame. The same chest contains Fireball.
- If you do activate the navigational device, the Pyromancy Flame and Fireball will remain in the same chest. However, leaving the area implies that you will have to either use a Homeward Bone before reaching the next bonfire or travel back to No-Man's Wharf later in order to retrieve it.
Hints and Tips:
- Fire damage increases with Pyromancy Flame upgrade.
- The flame can be upgraded by Carhillion of the Fold and Rosabeth of Melfia using the "Reinforce Pyromancy Flame" option.
- Does not directly scale off of any stat, but does scale with the Fire ATK Bonus, which is affected by both Intelligence and Faith.
- Fire damage soft cap hit is when Intelligence + Faith = 60.
- It gains S ranks scaling when upgraded 5 times.
Upgrade Cost:
Souls and Fire Seed.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

Why did I sell it to Gavlan? Now I can't use flash sweat or anything else useful for my cleric. Does bonfire aesthetic bring it back? I bet it doesn't.

If you missed the chest the first time around, warp back to Fisherman's Wharf. The ship returned and the chest with the Pyromancy Flame was there.

No idea if anyone still reads this, but it DOES get S scaling at "Pyromancy Flame+4" state. (SOTFS PC)

"It gains S rank scaling when upgraded 5 times." Well, sure, but you scroll down for half a second and see a table that claims it gets S scaling at +4, not +5. Which is it?

No stat requirements, huh? Guess we're all meant to be caster builds, whether we like it or not

Something interesting is that, make it poison infusion will have higher fire damage. With 99 Intelligence and 99 faith, it comes about 800 fire damage. You need cheat engine to make it come true, it's weird but funny. It also works to other chimes or staves.

You can summon Fireballs, Firestreams and mighty Firestorms but you can't lit Torches or Scones...

Missed the chest first go round, I've gone back to No Man's Wharf, but boat's gone... Any way to get it now? Aside from going NG+?

If you have enough Fire Seeds, you can upgrade to +10.
Maybe it's a system thing? I got it there on x360, with SOTFS.

Is there even a reason to upgrade if you only use flame weapon and warmth?
