Royal Dirk is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
A dagger fashioned from rare geisteel, boasting an unusually long blade.
Geisteel was a precious alloy created in the eastern land of Mirrah, its composition long kept secret from foreign lands.
That is, until Chancellor Wellager was ordered by King Vendrick to grant the gifted blacksmith Llewellyn a lifetime contract, whatever the cost, in order to introduce the rare alloy to Drangleic.
Acquired From
- Gift from Chancellor Wellager in Drangleic Castle after defeating the Giant Lord boss. You must visit and talk to him. He will give you this weapon along with an Espada Ropera
Hints and Tips:
- Reinforced with Twinkling Titanite to +5
- This dagger features a long blade, and was originally carried by Chancellor Wellager.
- Despite the game labeling it as a dagger, the 1H moveset is the same as some straight swords, however the 2H moveset gives the weapon the generic Dagger moveset. (Similar to the Black Flamestone Dagger)
- Consequently, due to the weapon being a mixture of a straight sword and dagger, the backstab and riposte animations are that of a straight sword, and therefore lack the damage of normal daggers on those animations.
- Alternatively, you can wield Espada Ropera on the right hand to replicate the "Rapier & Dagger" style.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

Pretty good, very fast 2handed attacks with low recovery including strong attacks. Low poise damage, stone ring is a must.
