Ruin Set is an Attire or Armor in Dark Souls 2. Armor sets do not provide specific benefits, so players are free to mix and match their preferred parts to optimize their Builds.
"Armor worn by the jailer's creation, the Ruin Sentinel.
The sentinel has no form, its soul residing within the armor itself. Stare at it for long and it seems ready to spring to life, but surely, such is an illusion."
Set Location
- Dropped by Ruin Sentinels in Drangleic Castle.
- Note: this set is a rare drop, so it's recommended to use equipment that raises drop rate or to join Company of Champions to have Sentinels respawning permanently.
Notes
- Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite.
- Chestpiece offers second highest petrification resistance (equal to that of Saint's robe).
- Gauntlets offer second highest petrification resistance.
- It is rumored that Ruin Helm's design took an homage to a headpiece in Armored Core: Verdict Day [reference pic removed – it's only showing Dark Souls 2 artwork; need relevant Armored Core pic].

I’ve gotten all except chest piece. One dropped an item and I had next to no health and before I could snatch it up a little guy ran up from behind and killed me. ****ing rage!!

Personally I found the best way to grind for the armour was to go in the area where the faram set is and grind the one above you when u reset using the bonfire just hit him with a arrow and he'll jump down. This also helps with getting used to the move set

no ruin sentinel weapon, but some good replacements are the drakekeeper's warpick and the archdrake mace (the "mace" is white, though, so it's not a perfect fit)

goddamn i got lucky when i killed all of them. they dropped differnt armor pieces all the time, essentially giving me the armor on my first ever playthrough.
Took me 120 kills with watchdragon pharma, jester's hat and covetous serpent ring +1. Went by pretty quickly though since the craftman's hammer +5 kills them in 4 hits and you can skip a lot of the stone knights by having the sentinels come to you

Choose big body build. Take this set and use glaive. Use a greatshield. You are now Lapp

Welp,I gotta rejoin the Champion's Covenant. But on my last guy(POWER WENT OUT CAUSING THE FILE TO GET CORRUPT)had all but the armor.Im right now just farming for the armor, souls are just a bonus.

Everyone forgets to mention Watchdragon Parma, it also raises item discovery by 50

Hello y'all, for getting this set i'd recommend you use the following items:
Jester's hat/Symbol of avarice
Prisioner's tatters
Havel's gauntlets
Havel's leggings
Rusted coin (as many as you can get)
And Covetous golden serpent ring +2

The guy below me said not to farm but i did and im glad i did because i got lucky and i got leggings, helm, and guantlets killing my first 4 sentinals. After that though I had to grind hard probably killed 20-30 sentinals before getting the final armor piece. I was in champions covenant, prisoners tatters, jester hat, gold serpent ring +1, good luck to those farming you just have to grind and you might get lucky like me!

The best farming equipment would be:
Head: Jester's Cap (if you don't have Symbol of Avarice)
Body: Prisoner's Tatters
Arms: Take some strong armour here
Legs: ^ Same as Arms ^

soo... i just farming sentinels next to bonefire at kings gate they stopped respawing. so i defeated boss and used a bonefire ascetic. sentinels spawned so cool. saved farming for later did some other stuff. then i saw this. joined company of companions. went for sentinel farming and they didnt respawn. it must be a mistake nvm. so i went and killed bosses again, used ascetic. same thing. they dont respawn. or maybe i did something wrong? in any case i can tell its not confirmed info.
