Shield Crossbow is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.

 

Crossbow created from the soul of the Executioner's Chariot. Iron plate serves as a shield while firing.

The merciless chariot inflicted agony upon others with utter impunity, and the crossbow created from its soul strives to protect from possible retribution.

Hints and Tips:

  • Character is shielded for as long as the attack button is held. The attack may be cancelled by rolling.
  • You can only block one time before you need to raise the crossbow again.
  • Note that holding the attack button with this crossbow takes a large amount of stamina; since the stability of the shield itself is low, be sure not to run out of stamina while blocking.
  • When 2 handing (not dual wielding), you can aim your reticule to fire, as with all the crossbows.
  • This crossbow cannot be power stanced even with two Shield Crossbows.
  • Uses less stamina per shot than the Heavy Crossbow, but has comparable damage and slightly longer range.
  • You can cancel the aiming of any crossbow and attack instead with the weapon held in your other hand, by pressing (Y/Triangle) and immediately following it up with a light or heavy attack.
  • Benefits from Raw infusion since it has no scaling.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.
