The wondrous soul of this beast can be used to acquire numerous souls, or to create something of great worth."

Soul of Lud, the King's Pet is a consumable item in Dark Souls 2.

Usage

Trade it along with 3,000 souls for the Loyce Greatsword from Weaponsmith Ornifex
Consume it for 16,000 souls.

  It's kinda weird how it says "each of the Ivory King's seven beasts was conferred a specific duty", but Zallen and Lud both have the exact same duty of "mercy killing of exiles"...
