Spotted Whip is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
A whip born from the soul of the Demon of Song. Covered with strange spots that betray its poisonous effects.
The Demon's sonorous voice, in stark contrast to its hideous form, is sure intended to lure people close so that it may devour them.
Acquired From
- Trading the Demon of Song Soul to Straid of Olaphis.
Hints and Tips:
- Upgraded with Petrified Dragon Bone
- When infused with poison and upgraded to +5, it gains a poison base damage of 287, making it one of the strongest poison dealing weapons in the game.
- When dual wielding Poison Spotted Whips +5, one is almost guaranteed to poison the opponent in PvP if both whips connect. With additional Sanctum Soldier Gauntlets and Crest of the Rat, it can inflict poison almost instantly.
- 1.08 Calibration greatly improved hit detection for dual whips.
- This whip is among the two most desirable whips in the game for whip-primary characters, the other being the Old Whip, which deals pure physical damage.

Power stancing these was so awesome in PVP, with those poison gauntlets from DLC and Stone ring. Every combo stuns them, and they'd be poisoned in 2 combos - 4 hits, and run behind a pillar to heal. :D Loved it, some of the best memories, it felt like it caught most people off guard.

Wish they didn't nerf DS2 stuff in DS3 so badly. Flynn's Ring is useless unless you're naked, while in DS2 I can use light armor + Mastodon Halberd and get full bonus. And then there's this whip, which is terrible in DS3, where poison is already weaker. They really didn't want build variety in DS3.
In Dark Souls 3, this whip builds less poison than a poison-infused notched whip. Oh how far the mighty have fallen.
