Staff of Wisdom is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.

Staff of the lost land of Olaphis. Sorcery-dedicated catalyst.

Cannot be used to cast hexes. The crystal at the tip of the staff greatly augments spell strength.

Already a finely-cra
fted staff, made even more effective by its crystal, the brilliance of which has been polished over time with powerful magic.

Acquired From

  • Dragon Shrine, shortly after first bonfire by walking up the nearby steps (to the left if exiting the bonfire room), killing the Drakekeeper, and then breaking the crates behind him to reveal an area to use a Pharros Lockstone. If activated it will reveal a fog wall behind the player with a chest containing The Armor Of Judgment (Velka's Armor from Dark Souls 1) along with The Staff Of Wisdom.
  • SOFS: Brightstone Cove Tseldora. Army Camp Bonfire. Jump down the well and proceed to the house. Inside the house is a Mimic with Dark Leggings and Staff of Wisdom.

Hints and Tips:

  • Best sorcery staff in the game, especially when infused with Magic. It greatly boosts sorcery damage.
  • Cannot be used to cast hexes.
  • Casts from higher up than most staves, allowing many enemies to get under spells when close, but can be advantageous when casting over barriers
  • Due to its sheer length, a close-up locked-on spell can sometimes score as a headshot, especially against taller enemies. Not something to rely on, but an unexpected boon nonetheless.
  • Upgrades with Twinkling Titanite.
  • 494 bns infused with 52 int

Use a Loyd's talisman to open the chest and obtain without having to fight the Mimic. Useful for weaker early game builds that want to obtain this easily

They made the staff available potentially much earlier in the game in SotFS but didn't change the (fairly high) intelligence requirement. Seems like an oversight.

Something that isn't really mentioned is that it gives extra lenght to Soul Greatsword, and due to the staff's animation a small bonus to how far back the blade arcs, hitting opponents behind you sometimes.

This staff can't cast hexes (Dark magic), but why in this page has Dark infusion table as well? Will somebody do this? Will the staff do split damage between Magic and Dark?

I don't think so, since the damage comes from the spell itself. Unless you like to bash people with the staff and deals +Dark damage...

            Explanation, please.

In the Scholar of the First Sin, you get it from a mimic in a broken down building in the area just past the Doors of Pharos. You have to drop through the well, kill the boar down there, climb up the ladder, and kill the mimic.
