Whip is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
A leather whip. Not normally used on the battlefield.
Very effective against bare flesh, but not against enemies with armor or like protection.
Acquired From
- Purchase from Laddersmith Gilligan for 1800 souls.
- SOTFS: In the Soldier's Rest area, on the roof where three Old Ironclad Warriors are, there's a corpse close to the edge that has a Whip (Another corpse has a Bastard Sword). The Last Giant must be killed in order to access this area. (Scholar of the First Sin)
Hints and Tips:
- Lower attack power than the Bloodied Whip regardless of Dexterity bonus due to the difference in base damage.
- Can be aimed vertically to some extent (25 degrees?) when not locked on a target by angling the camera a long way up or down.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

"Can be aimed vertically to some extent.." Did anyone have a video of this?

Full Dex, rest on stamina, Power Stance these and no one will ever get to you on pvp. No need for anything else really. Make sure you're fastrolling and rollcatching.
There's a whip in the area that Bastard Sword is (Soldier's Rest bonfire). On the roof where three Old Ironclads warriors are, and on the corpse closest to the edge.
"Lower attack power than the Bloodied Whip regardless of Dexterity bonus due to the difference in base damage."
When the wiki is just straight up wrong???
