Chariot Lance is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.

"Lance forged from the soul of the Executioner's Chariot. Its cross-shaped blade causes bleeding.
The perverse design of this spear mirrors the chariot from which it came, a merciless creation that endlessly tortured the Undead."

Hints and Tips:

  • The Grand Lance is better if you want to use weapon buffs since chariot can't be enchanted but, if you don't want to do that then Chariot is only 7 damage points behind Grand even if you have 50 STR 50 DEX on top of added bleed.
  • Could be difficult to max out earlier on in the game because it needs petrified dragon bones unlike normal titanite weapons.
  • It is capable of breaking guards more often than the Grand Lance, and has a better reach.

I'm playing at SL 150, and this weapon is amazing despite its heavy dependency on petrified dragon bone for upgrades.

The Great Lance is also a good option for the playthrough, but it is more suited for a quality build (STR/DEX). I tested the values in-game, and the Chariot Lance is primarily STR-based, while the Great Lance is better for a quality approach.

For those outside the overleveled player base with full stats, you can easily use the Chariot Lance during your NG/NG+ run and PvP. It has a beautiful design and can be deadly when coupled with shadow gauntlets to increase bleed build-up.

I run a morning star as off hand weapon to punish agressive rolls in pvp.

It's possible to got a reliable bleed build in a strength build. I really like this weapon design.

Useless for Str builds vs grand lance because:
-you get it much later in the game after an dumb optional boss -charriot vs last giant
-at 40/18 Str/dex it does like 1 or 2 DMG more
-cant be buffed with spells, infusions or items
-heavier than grand lance (12 vs 16)
-much slower to max out and level up overall except you totally go out of your way to get the dragon bones
        -consumes more stamina
The only redeeming thing about this weapon is the bleed but it won't proc often enough to actually make up for the flaws.

This is actually a pretty good weapon if you're a strength build with minimal dex of 18. Good reach with bleed and I used it against vendrick.

          • Phew, this page should be better now, I think I've fixed all the misinformation
I'm still not sure about the Grand Lace comparision in the "Hints and tricks" section, but maybe someone will find it useful

Executioner lance’s page setup is just. Pain. The weapons page shows it as the Grand Lance and here it displays the Golem lance.

Made me think I went to the wrong page the first few times I tried it.

Can anyone confirm me something? Has this thing additional range on its hilt? The three spikes that are on the hilt seem like they can hit enemies that are a bit to the side of the Lance. So if you didn't hit them with the Lance itself, you can still do some Dmg with the spikes on the sides. Would make sense to me but I'm on console and can't look up it'***** boxes.

Has this thing additional range on its hilt? The three spikes look like they can hit things on your left or right side. Does anyone know if it has a larger hitboxe on the sides?
