Petrified Egg Usage in DKS2

Dark Souls 2 Petrified Egg Location

  • The Dragon Shrine: after you kill the enemy shooting lightning at you, go up the steps and kill a 2-handed and a shield/1-handed knight. Do not go through the door yet, look around for an area to jump off of next to two chests. One is a mimic so be careful. After killing a Drakekeeper and the NPC invader Dragonfang Villard, the Petrified Egg will be on an altar.

So I'm playing on PC, SOTFS Edition and I can confirm the Dragon Knights don't turn hostile if you pick up the egg. I've never attacked them on my current playthrough, and after I got the egg they still remain peaceful.

I swear picking this up used to make the dragonknights hostile. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong, it was a few years ago and on the original version.
