Chimes in Dark Souls II are a type of Weapon that are primarily used as casting tools for Miracles and Hexes, these weapons can also deal strike damage when using their strong attack. Chimes are usually used as a healing or buffing weapon due to the different spells that Miracles and Hexes provides, but there are other offensive spells that players can acquire throughout the game for these weapons. Chimes deal Dark or Lightning damage, depending on what type of spell is being used. This page covers a list of all Chimes in Dark Souls 2.

DLC Item: Crown of the Old Iron King
  • Similar to the Disc Chime, the Mace of the Insolent is classed as a Hammer, but can cast Miracles and chime Hexes with its Strong Attack.
  • The Sanctum Shield is a Shield that can cast sorceries, miracles and hexes.
  • The Black Witch's Staff is classed as a Staff, but is a catalyst for Miracles and chime Hexes also. It can be used to cast any kind of spell besides Pyromancy.
  • All catalysts consume slightly more stamina to cast if wielded with your left hand (unlike melee weapons, they do not deal less damage)

I like ds2, but man, they could have made healing scale with your chime. Still using my starter chime since its the fastest and im not using offensive miracles

To add to the person below: Idol's Chime is also very good if you wish to use Faith-leaning Hexes early game. You only need that faith early game, which isn't hard to get with things like bonfire ascetics.

Dragon's chime for miracles, caitha's chime for hexes, priest's chime if you only want only miracles until you get dragon's chime, cleric's chime if you want both miracles and hexes, or just hexes until you get the better chimes. You're welcome

Hey, i've got a tiny question, I'm trying miracles and I'm looking for a little info : what is the best chime/talisman to use miracles only, and as a little bonus, what is the best for both miracles and hexes, for info, i've got 50 faith and 8 int, might redo my stats later ^^
