Disc Chime is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
"A rare sacred chime of unknown origin. Can be used as a shield.
This chime, likely brought here by a visiting saint, slightly augments the effects of miracles. Use strong attack to emit miracles and hexes.
Effect: use miracles and hexes (strong attack)"
Acquired From
- Grave of Saints: After the Royal Rat Vanguard boss fight, past the Rat King, drop down using the sticking-out coffins to a stone "bridge"; you'll spot the treasure at the edge of the room, to the left of a chest. To reach it, you must jump off of the stone bridge onto a small ledge. Try using a plunging attack if you find yourself rolling off the edge. Be sure to equip Fall Control or the Silvercat Ring, as you may incur significant fall damage.
Hints and Tips:
- Can block using the regular attack button (only chime that acts as a shield/catalyst); use miracles/hexes with the strong attack button.
- This chime has an additional secret effect - it adds a flat buff of approximately 30 points of damage when held in the off hand and casting with another chime (tested with dragon chime +10, needs additional testing)
- Can be handy for faith/hex builds as this chime requires no strength or dexterity to use as a shield, and allows the user to cast miracles without having to switch to a dedicated chime.
- Due to it's E rating in Dark, this chime has significantly more potential when being used with miracles.
- Upgraded with standard titanite.
- When infused with Lightning, this chime can almost completely negate lightning damage when used as a shield.
- If used as a two-handed weapon it does a surprising amount of damage.
- At 50 Faith, this chime has a lightning damage bonus of 349.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

fun fact: the jump is why you don't already have this weapon

I like how creative the developers were when it came to weapons in this game

i wish this had higher casting speed :( that way i can use sum healing miracles and protect my buds in co-op just slightly faster
- Anonymous
I would like to signal it increased by 3 or 5% for miracles, not flat 30,i tried before.
Also u can infuse it to cast and have 2 chime with different speed, useful in pvp

why does a plus 3 do more damage than a plus 7 fire longsword
- Anonymous
As a shield this things not bad. 50 stability and 80 percent physical reduction at +0.
One negative I've noticed though is, while you can 'cook' heals by holding L2, you can't cancel the heal by rolling.
You also can't parry, and it's really terrible against fire and magic.
BUT it has solid fashion souls potential and being able to cast on the fly is nice. Also saves a weapon slot.
Basically a trade-off where a bit of damage/healing is given up in return for a very versatile shield/chime.
It's definitely not great as a shield and it's not great as a chime, but having them both on one slot is really convenient, since a lot of people put chime in offhand for sunlight blade anyway. It's a little gimmicky but I'd recommend trying it out

God I wish From added something like this to Ds3. Ds2 is keeping all the cool **** for itself

Lunging attacks with this will do insane damage, and it's hilarious watching a player in full armor with a massive weapon get smacked around by a dinner plate and lose

This shield is very useful for Sorcerers who do not want to waste to many of their souls on strength or dexterity, and want to specialize in many forms of spells. This thing is passable as either a shield when blocking anything not fire/magic, also good as a chime, and does good damage when used to smack people (tho be careful of the short range!), and it's small boost to miracle effectiveness is a nice bonus. For those looking for advice of what to pair this with when on a purist sorcerer: I'd probably at least use a regular or thief dagger in case I need criticals/backup weapon, and at the least get 5 strength for a small leather shield infused with magic to make up for the lack of parry and low magic and fire resist of this shield, and fire longsword can be okay if you are willing to get 9 dexterity. All that for 4 level ups is a good deal.... and you having something to hold you until you are willing to enter the sewers. Clerics might also wish to consider using it despite their good starting strength: either as a way to save equipment slots for other things, and/or just to smack enemies with pure lightning damage without use of offensive spells.

Best weapon to punch someone with, and cast miracles for the base game content. Then again, you could get the Champion's Seal (Which, I went out of my way to do that for three hours. ***** that*****.), which, both can do 500 damage with high enough stats, then up to 700 with the right rings.

Tested this by hand, it increases miracle damage by roughly 3%.
- Anonymous
Holding it in the offhand seems to slightly boost miracle damage.

you need 50 because you can do 500 damage a hit with it you salty fags

Why the hell does it say you need 50 faith, its actually like 20 or near that.

Is there a way to respawn this item? I want to use 2 of them.

Why this wasn't carried over to dark souls 3 is a complete mystery to me, it was one of the most novel ideas for a chime I've seen in any of the games, and would have made a wonderful addition.
Mfw at +3 this outdamages a +7 lightning Heide knight's sword.
