Manikin Claws is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
Claws used by the manikins of Harvest Valley.
The peculiar art of puppetry is a vestige of the two lost lands.
The Queen, entranced by poison, used it to beckon unknowing souls to the defiled valley.
Acquired From
- A rare drop from three particular Manikins (the dextrous headless humanoids) in Harvest Valley. they are found by jumping off a ledge onto a very small platform right before the Covetous Demon's fog door. If the player misses the jump onto the platform, it's extremely likely that they will die.
- Plunging attack will stop the roll animation when you land your jump, stopping you from rolling over the edge.
- It is easier to get onto the platform if you run off the edge at an angle as opposed to trying make it by jumping
- Compared to default claw, this one scales both strength and dexterity with C, while default Claws is dexterity dedicated.
Hints and Tips:
- Much like any other rare drop, it is recommended that the player max out their item discovery. This includes wearing either the Jester Hat, Travelling Merchant Hat, or Prisoner's Hood, along with the Prisoner's Tatters, the highest available Covetous Gold Serpent Ring, and using a Rusty Coin.
- Infusing the claws with Bleed or Poison increases the weapons base physical damage but reduces scaling down to D. If the Manikin Claws are upgraded, the scaling for Strength will go up to C but Dexterity scaling remains D.
- Scholar of the first sin. The claws have bleed effect innately.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

The Manakin Claws drop from more than just those three Masked Manakins, at least on PS4. I received one while trying to get their gauntlets. It was dropped by one of the three that attack you above the Central Earthen Peak bonfire, up the stairs and up the ladder, one of those three dropped it.

Confirmed: on xbox one sotfs edition the claws are slash not strike.

Pro tipp: Let the poison bug on the ledge alive and use it as a brake for your jump. It will be "confused" by the jump in it´s face and you have time to roll away and dispatch of it.

The manikin claws inherently have bleed on them prior to any infusion. Infusing with bleed increases the bleed output with only a slight decrease in the physical damage output.
lean mean crest of blood machines. powerstance two of these babies and you will bleed out. I will find you.
