*When infused: 80 physical dmg/80 elemental dmg and B scaling with chosen element.
Broken Thief Sword is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
A broken straight sword. Handled as a dagger due to its length.
This inexpensive sword is terribly worn, but nevertheless a favorite amongst thieves.
Acquired From
- Treasure pickup in the aqueduct that connects Majula with Heide's Tower of Flame.
- Drop from Hollow Rogue in Huntsman's Copse
Hints and Tips:
- Makes a very good off-hand weapon in PvP due to its reach, low stamina consumption, high poise damage (for a dagger) and decent damage.
- Move set similar to the Dagger, with slashing strong attacks instead of thrusting.
- This can be considered the dagger-equivalent of the Broken Straight Sword.
- Despite its low stats, this can be a decent early game weapon for those who choose the Deprived path, given its ease of acquiring. "Nearly useless" trumps "empty-handed."

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

100 Counter damage, not 150. That'd be insane and make this weapon viable for other purpases than poise damage
- Anonymous
Using this as your main weapon does only 48 damage to hollows ( low b enemies ) and 22 to armored enemies.

This is pretty good for offhand weapon. Use this with Greatsword

If you're looking for a mundane gimmic build, broken straight sword is better

I think it would be cool if there was a thief sword because there is a broken one
May not deal the most damage but it only requires you to level str to be somewhat efficient.
It also deals twice as much poise damage as other daggers, does anyone know how useful this thing can be with the stone ring and blade ring?
