Espada Ropera is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
Thrusting sword of Chancellor Wellager. Forged with rare geisteel.
A masterpiece of the great blacksmith Llewellyn that he brought along as a gift when he left Mirrah for Drangleic.
Acquired From
- Talk to Chancellor Wellager in Drangleic Castle after defeating the Giant Lord to receive the Espada Ropera, Royal Dirk and Llewellyn Set.
Hints and Tips:
- Upgraded with regular Titanite to +10.
- Regular Rapier moveset, also parries with right strong attack, but with a better scaling on dex, this one has A scaling instead of B.
- You can wield Royal Dirk on the left hand to compensate the horizontal attack and rolling attack, also it's quite easy to connect the powerstance, hence the intended "Rapier And Dagger" style.
Trivia:
- Historically, Espada Ropera (Dress Sword) was a sword developed in the mid-15th century in Spain. The name referred to swords worn by civilians, as opposed for those meant for battlefield use.
- Compared to earlier thrusting swords, the espada ropera was lighter, thinner, and more ornate.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.
Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

Wish the handle wasn’t so ridiculously long; you never see handle’s this long on real rapiers. And before anyone says it’s for two handing, you could just as easily two hand the pommel.

The durability of the weapon is 80 not 45 why hasn't anyone noticed?

"If the Rapier is so good, then why isn't there a Rapier 2?"

best rapier in the game, great moveset + the parry in powerstance is low key broken

i never understood the point of this weapon until i put it in my right hand in power stance and realized you can parry without having to give up the stance. it's the most fun i've had with this game in a long time

Getting poked by this is the equivalent to receiving a direct impact from a tactical nuke.
11 strength, 40 dex, 25 fth, 4 slots (one way or another) no more than 10 vit, throw on Flynn's ring, Rob+2, Sacred Oath, Leo ring, RTSR if you want to, and a resin and you can absolutely shred bosses in this game.
(particularly effective against fume knight, ivory king, and sir alonne)

Had to ditch this and switch to katanas. Thrust aiming mechanics are way too retarded in DS2.

Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you have killed my father, prepare to die!

Please dear From Software. After you nerfed Santiers Spear, Monastery Scimitar, MLGS, Sorceries, Miracles and Pyromancies to death leave at least this Weapon alone

This is a direct upgrade from rapier. So any rapier mains just change to this as soon as you obtain it.

The legend. The weapon that let the first Dark Souls II SOFTS All Bosses no hit run happen. And by a spanish man no less.

great piercing sword, but... rapier comes earlier, has less str and dex requirement, and actually uses very slightly less stamina(if that is worth anything).

Shame you cannot get a second one without going into into NG+

So, I have a Dex build with this and the Royal Dirk as my main weapons with the Blacksteel Katana as a back up, but I cant figure out an armor set that really finishes the look.

Amazing weapon you get it from chancellor wellagor near king's gate after slaying giant king of course..

Since I speak Spanish (And obviusluy I play the game in Spanish) I thought the name would be "Rapier Sword" but I see that either they first translated the game to Spanish and forgot to translate it to English or this is an actual name LOL
I keep hearing this thing is broken OP so I said screw it and tried it and it's far from being broken 200 damage a hit isn't crap In the end game or ng+ that's 2 to 3 hits for a hollow if your character doesn't go full retard first and start attacking everywhere but the thing that is attacking you. Unless this thing got nerfed horribly I don't see why people keep saying it's broken and or over powered
