*When infused: 80 physical dmg/80 elemental dmg and B scaling with chosen element.
Washing Pole is a weapon in Dark Souls 2.
A katana of unknown origin. Crafted with a peculiar yet refined technique.
The extremely long blade allows for strikes from great distance, but its construction makes it extremely fragile.
Acquired From
- Dragon Shrine (Chest) (Mimic) You can acquire this in any NG, if you do not receive it try using a bonfire ascetic and keep trying until the mimic drops the washing pole. It also drops Petrified Dragon Bone x1 & Petrified Something x1.
- Does not respawn a duplicate within the same NG if you already acquired Washing Pole.
- From killing the two Pursuers in the Drangleic Castle Throne Room at NG++. This can also be done using bonfire ascetics.
- In SOTFS, there are two locations you can get it. One is from a mimic chest in drangleic castle, in the same room with the 2 headed horse. The other is in Harvest Valley just before the Earthen Peak entrance, in the poison mist on the far right side.
Hints and Tips:
- Has the longest blade of all Katanas but suffers from very low durability (20).
- Consumes noticeably more stamina than other katanas.
- Has lower counter damage than most katanas to offset its tremendous reach.
- The Washing Pole is slower than other katanas, but only in some areas. The very first R1\RB attack that you throw will be slightly slower when compared to other katanas. In addition, the R2\RT attacks are noticeably slower when two-handing.
- The Washing Pole has vastly lower directional adjustment compared to other katanas in regards to its 2-handed strong attacks.
Notes:
- The Washing Pole may be a reference to "Monohoshi Zao" (The Laundry-Drying Pole), a nodachi used by the prominent Japanese swordsman Sasaki Kojirō who lived during the Sengoku period.
- Also modeled after Nodachi (Wild Tachi), a historical katana-type sword (or technically, Tachi) with extended blade, in the size of a greatsword. In certain non english versions of the game, "Nodachi" is the name of this weapon in game.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.

Weapon is absolutely ****ing cracked when powerstanced with a broken straight sword in the right hand. It gains the straight sword move set along with the broken straight swords stamina usage, which is absolutely insane. Currently on NG+4 and it’s still really really good

Damage for elemental infusions at +10 is 168 in both physical and the chosen element.

In russian version it simply named "Katana". Confusing as hell.

In my version of the game (maybe after some patch) it is officialy renamed to be No-Dachi, not Washing Pole

Sephiroth turned in his grave when he heard From was naming his weapon 'Washing Pole'.

The upgrade path shown is for dark souls 1. Someone made an opps.

Why hasn't it been noted that Washing Pole has the fastest powerstance strong attack compared to all others who can do the same powerstance strong attack?

Does everything on the table look correct in terms of, y'know, DS2? I don't use the Washing Pole myself but if everything looks okay just remove the Crystal, Occult and Divine paths, turn everything that isn't +10 TO +10, and everything will be okay!

Whoever made this upgrade table is so *****ing stupid. DS 2 has no Crystal, Occult, nor Divine upgrade path. all the attack value in this table is wrong except maybe the normal upgrade even so, since when can you upgrade it into +15? If you really have this***** in your inventory you'd be banned or even break your save game right away.

This weapon is named Nodachi in the german versions, so it is likely that Washing Pole is just another name for the same weapon
