"Iron mask worn by Heide Knights.
Whether Heide refers to a kingdom or was just a name for the land is not clear, for no records date back far enough to tell.
All that is known is that the Way of the Blue has its origins in Heide, and that Heide was later subsumed by the sea."
Location
- Found in Cathedral of Blue, past Old Dragonslayer's arena, in a chest on the balcony next to Blue Sentinel Targray.
- [Scholar of the First Sin] Guaranteed drop on NG (can still drop on NG+) from Heide Knight found in The Gutter (spawns once): find the first Swollen Mongrel past a long bridge, turn in the opposite direction, cross the house and drop down.

- Alternative helm for Heide Knight Set
- Upgraded with Titanite
- Offers second highest bleed resistance (equal to that of Manikin mask)

Not a guaranteed drop it seems, at least not with Bonfire Ascetic NG

This thing is so stupid. If the knight falls, you CANNOT get the mask until next playthrough.

Why does the SOTFS items drops are charged for to me seem like a stupid thing to do

If the knight takes a dive and you can't get the drop, don't panic. Just quit to menu, and reload. Drop should be at his spawn location.
This works for most cases of loot in unreachable locations.

One of the dumbest changes they made in SOTFS. 6 Ascetics burned and he keeps jumping down. Who the hell thought it was a good idea to put this unique drop on a single unique non-respawnable enemy on a narrow ledge that he can easily fall off of that can only spawn again when you use a rare resource?

I got this after getting my game to NG+ 11, I'm still wondering if it was worth it
Ok so Trying to edit the freaking picture in the upgrade stat cause it to squeeze it...
I have no idea why but in simple terms
the entire upgrade stats needs to be remade from scratch as its not that well structured I assume

Anybody willing to trade this for something? Didnt realize that the heide knight in the gutter was a thing until new game + and now I'm screwed. Used up all my ascetics and got three great lances out of it.

I killed the knight and he killed me at the same time. Helmet dropped and wasnt there when i came back

Wait, So is the helmet not available at the cathedral in SOTFS? I opened the chest and no helmet.
Goes extremely well with the Alva set, arguably better than it does with the Heide Knight Set
