The King's elder brother Aldia sought to overcome the curse through means unalike his sibling's.

The Forlorn were born of Aldia's sinful infatuation.

Hints and Tips:

  • Scales with hollowing, like dark pyromancy flame.
  • Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite to +5.
  • This weapon, like the Greatsword of the Forlorn, performs best when infused with bleed. It gets an incredible amount of bleed damage and loses only a tiny amount of normal/dark damage. The dark scaling is also BETTER than when you infuse it with dark.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.
The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].
This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has.

      as a representative of the 1s and 2s of mlgs users in sotfs in 2024 who know how good it used to be and persevere, i commend all scythe players for sticking with their highly unorthodox weapon class and extend an olive branch of solidarity

        There's nothing wrong with this weapon people complain about it because it has the hollow mechanic but in actuality this weapon inflicts bleed very easily especially if bleed infused the damage isn't particularly high but considering people have beaten the game with ladle & bare handed it's a lot better than necessary if you want to give it a shot do it if not move to the Ultra Greatswords/ Great hammers pages and enjoy easy mode

          I love how in the hands of the Forlorn, this weapon is absolutely lethal and can easily stunlock you if they land even a single blow and can delete huge chunks of your health in a matter of seconds, yet it sucks balls when you use it and has very mediocre damage for how precise the sweet spot is on it, what's with Souls games and having the weapons dropped from certain enemies be 1000% times suckier when you use it compared to when the enemy uses it.

              looks amazing. does crap damage, fully hollow or human, bleeds fast though 3-4 hits
              a bit of testing and it seems that being fully hollow gives about 25% more damage, no good. especially for how late game you get it

                Anyone know why the Scythe wielding ones aren't spawning for me? I've been to all their locations, and none feel like showing up for me.

                  Why did they make it exclusive to the SotFS version for? It's SO COOL LOOKING! If it was in the 360/PS3 version I might have actually used Reapers.

                    yeah dark ain't good to use on this weapon i try it out and the bonus is not the best. can someone tell me what is the best to infused it or is it the characters stats?

                      it's sad that this weapon practically disables co-op, or online interaction altogether
                      you can't summon anyone or if you're summoned and the host succeeds you turn into human and have to die again and again to regain NORMAL damage

                      i wish it was scaling like the dark pyromancy flame instead
